Elliott is 10x the footballer of Howe.
Which is why we can't waste more of our salary cap on B Graders.

Does anyone here actually watch any football?

You can have a case of Chivas on it that Howe doesn't kick >35 goals next year.
I don't care if Hawthorn recruit him and have him one out in the forward line.
You don't know much about the game do you? Howe is exactly what we need. If it cost us Kennendy then it's a steal.

Darkstranger - what do we need him for?
Our Ressies made the finals already.

Its not Kennedy mate - its the 450k of the salary cap.

Store it - front end some blokes and get a genuine gun next year.

Melbourne dont freaking want him.
Roos already off loaded Jesse to us.

Geebers !

Fair go there Cigar. After all, Blair might not play seniors next year, Youngie is gawn and Armstrong has retired. I reckon we seriously need a new whipping boy. It takes years to recruit, groom, and train a proper whipping boy. Why not trade for one that's ready-made?

Are we trading Sinclair?
Oh thank god for that

I'm a big fan of Ben Ken and think we will all rue the day if we let him go. Not happy Jan.

As long as we intend on playing Howe forward I'm happy to welcome him to the pies.

He'll cost more than just Kennedy though.

Okay, now that we traded BK... do we still have to pay for his 2016 contract, or "wear it" in our 2016 salary cap?
Or does fulfilling his wish to be traded to club of his choice therefore void all of the above?

Melbourne would have to pick it up, unless we agree to pay it or part off like we did with Shaw.

that said, have heard nothing about this in the trade deal

Well it's hard to know what to believe what his actual worth was now; what the club has told us, or the conspiracy theories tied into the trades with the other three clubs!!

Exactly; like it's been swept under the rug in all the excitement...

Good luck to BenKen at his new club but it's clear that this was the right move for everyone concerned.

Kennedy didn't seem to have the faith of the coaching staff and I hardly saw anything myself to be optimistic about his long-term chances at the club.

He's been a very solid player at VFL but the challenge for him now will be whether he can step up at senior level.

Is it his height, decision making or kicking that makes you feel this way?

Seriously, I watched plenty of VFL football this year and he still couldn't dominate a game due to his limitations.

I wish him well at Melbourne, but he had to be moved on...
