I’d prefer future picks than Parfitt.Presti35 wrote:He's kicked 21 goals in 15 games this year (2 as unused medi-sub, and how many as used sub?)
Yes, he needs improvement, but he is talented round the goals.
Geelong will have a pick between 15-18, but that sounds like it may be used in the Tanner Bruhn deal. Looking at the Cats list, at players 24 or under, the reality is they will not be offering De Koning, Mires, Close or Holmes. And I've lost hope that we can turn this around and lure Jack Henry instead.
All signs are pointing to Oli wanting this move.
That leaves us with a few options. Trade for unders. Let him go into the draft. Don't approve a deal and re-sign him. Or trade for something we think is fair.
What do we think about Brandan Parfitt? 24yo, 180cm, 111 games, strong-bodied mid. In and out of Geelongs side, but does win contested possessions.

I think he is the one we should ask for in return. With the possibility of upgrading a pick down the line somewhere, or even asking for Parfitt and 46. (Doubt they'll give us 36).
Ratugolea and Narkle are no's from me.

Sam Edmund this week, but whispers it’s been on the cards for a while now.mattdally wrote:When was this?Mr Miyagi wrote:Reported he told the club
That's not quite accurate. It was reported that his intention is to nominate Geelong but there is no confirmation from Edmund that he has done so yet.Mr Miyagi wrote:Reported he told the club
Correct. They haven’t but I think all will be revealed shortly after our finals campaign. That’s usually how it pans out. Frampton is now official, just as McStay still isn’t.mattdally wrote:Sam Edmund believes Ollie will nominate the Cats.
Ollie and his manager have yet to indicate anything.
Think he shall get 3 All Australians, kick 400+ and rival Jack GunstonWhat'sinaname wrote:Not a huge loss.
Doesn't work hard enough. Will end his career with less than 50 AFL games
I agree.....but the key word is if.swoop42 wrote:Elliott is 31, Mihocek turns 30 in February, Johnson is already close to turning 25, inexperienced and still remains an unknown quantity.
Henry at 20 is just one big preseason, injury or form slump away from being an important member of our forward line.
Unless he's determined to leave and play with his brother at Geelong we need to be a bit more flexible with our contract offer because losing a player with his potential isn't worth it if we're only talking a 100K difference between what he wants and what we're offering.
