I think collingwood are practically blameless in this.

I understand where you are coming from, but sometimes by not responding to questions you end up adding more fuel to the fire. We have a salary cap that we need to abide by and most players will not get what they are asking for. The Clokes think that they are above everybody else and as a result of this stupidity it will probably cost us any chance of winning this year's flag as well as retaining Trav post this season.

In March Cloke told the Club he wouldn't discuss his contract until the end of the season
In May the Club implores Cloke to open negotiations
In July the Club tells Cloke that it intends to put off negotiations til the end of the season
Had the Club stuck with Clokes initial decision NONE of this would have occurred.
