You're right. None of this would have happened, but he would nevertheless have ended up at Carlton at the end of the season. Clearly the club wanted to avoid this by making its best offer known to him and trying to persuade him to stay with us. He has chosen to reject that offer. The only conclusion I can reach from this is that he he headed out the door...as was Scully and Ablett, who each put off a decision until the end of the season.Nash Rising wrote:How about this thenDeja Vu wrote:I think collingwood are practically blameless in this.
As far as I can tell, only one party has been negotiating in good faith.
In March Cloke told the Club he wouldn't discuss his contract until the end of the season
In May the Club implores Cloke to open negotiations
In July the Club tells Cloke that it intends to put off negotiations til the end of the season
Had the Club stuck with Clokes initial decision NONE of this would have occurred.

You could be forgiven for thinking he will stay based on that article.the ru is on fire wrote:^^ good article. David "tells it like it is". Pretty simple really - it's about the difference between 4 or 5 years, and 800 seems like the figure that he's talking about. Considering David played till he was 67, 30 doesn't seem like too much of a stretch for Trav.....
