we can read. that's not the issue. it's whether we think you have any credibilty or, moreso, whether we can really give a f*ck believing you.TimetoFly wrote:Finally someone can read4everpies wrote:^Paul Connors is a player manager (Ben Reid's manager I think), and apparently Paul Connors brother is TimeToFly's source for the Cloke to Scum rumour.
I'm not sure if your question was serious, but this thread has become so bizarre I'm answering it anyway.
Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle.

I know a lot on here are saying Cloke leaving is a done deal, but that is not how free agency works.
During the free agency trade period all offers to the free agent must be shown to his existing club. The club has the opportunity to match the offers.
So using Cloke to Carlton as an example:
Collingwood will be shown Carlton's offer.
If Collingwood can't match the Carlton offer, Cloke is free to move to Carlton.
If Collingwood matches the Carlton offer, Cloke may choose to stay, seek a trade or enter the draft.
Therefore it's not as simple as Travis (or David) accepting an offer from Carlton at this time of the season.

True but would you want to Keep Cloke IF he wants to leave?4everpies wrote:I know a lot on here are saying Cloke leaving is a done deal, but that is not how free agency works.

^ No, of course not.
Travis has not stated he wants to leave COLL though, he does however want more money.
If COLL match the Scums offer (for eg.) why would be leave?

If Cloke really wants to leave, what's the point trying to keep him? Walsh has made it clear the club only wants players who want to remain, and will try and make that happen.Dave The Man wrote:True but would you want to Keep Cloke IF he wants to leave?
Cloke seems to want to stay, according to what he has said, so we'll see what happens. I highly doubt that any deal will be done until the season has ended anyway.

Do we know for certain what the Scums offer really is?
5 years is a long time in football, even the Scum can see it's a big risk.
Placing all your eggs in the one basket could well squeeze some of their youngsters out.
None of them have put their hands up for a big raise in their salaries yet, but in a few years that may change they won't have room to move mate.

According to the Cloke's themselves it's not about money..Dave The Man wrote:Then why have we not offered that Money Then to him before then?ANNODAM wrote:^ No, of course not.

It's 4 years at 800K vs 5 years at 800K..
Neither side blinked.. they've walked

Just out of curiosity do u think a player during the season is going to come out and say publicly that I want out ??The Prototype wrote:If Cloke really wants to leave, what's the point trying to keep him?
