I don't care what he's worth, that's for other people to figure out.

I hope this can be sorted and he stays, but I'm not confident in all honesty

People here will use his poor form as an excuse to say thats the reason he was not taken up by another club.... but the rumour file started weeks ago.

Collingwood have the last say and if they match any offers Cloke has to stay.
We hold the trump card... because we only have to make room in the salary cap for Travis's increase... whereas another club has to put aside and make room for around the 800k plus in their salary cap.

We then equal the offer and the other club is left with an 800k hole. Risky business for any side to be in.

Not true. If we match he does not have to stay. A trade can be negotiated or he can go into the draft

I actually wouldn't be surprised that may be the case, though with Carlton. Carlton will use Warnock to try and lure Cloke to Carlton and us to trade him.

Does anyone actually believe our Board would let both Mick (I know we don't have any say in it now) and Trav end up at Carlton?

Any chance we can get behind the bloke this week - since the only deadset certainty is that on Saturday night he will run out as a Collingwood player.

At the end of the day we do not have a say. MM is free to do whatever he wants next year. As for Travis Cloke, he can ultimately choose which deal he will take. From my limited understanding he is free to take whatever offer he likes providing he takes the correct steps. In theory, Collingwood could surpass an offer that he subsequently takes from another club.

As long as Cloke is wearing the Black & White I will support him on the field. At the same time I am very disappointed in how this year has panned out.

Also, when considering the time it took MM to get us a premiership - I cannot see him lasting that long at Carlscum before they lynch him.

I was thinking that as an RFA (Restricted Free Agent or Real F'ing A'hole) if we matched any offer, then he had to stay. Is that right, or if there are two equal offers, can he take his pick?

The offer is shown to the club, and they're able to match it, giving the player the last choice on where he wants to go.

That is, if the club can match the offer. That's just how I understand it.

In theory yes, but in this instance the club has made its final offer and will not be increasing it by a single dollar.
