Pies are now getting value for money on the back of the ruck dominance of Lynch who has certainly developed his endurance. Pies had a Golden chance, but Goldy was run down in an excellent tackle.

Reid has been excellent up forward. Repeated leads and an eagerness to be involved. Wellings snap from the Sherrin Stand pocket misses, narrowly, but the lead is extended to 16 points.

The Pies VFL team has shown resilience to persevere in a tough struggle- the third term has shown better co-ordination in attack. A fifty metre penalty gifts the Northern Blues a goal as they draw within 8 points, 19 gone in the third.

Crucial time the game- our boys attack through Wills to Wells but the Blues hold us up gamely in the face of a concerted attack.
Kerr marks for them and draws full points- Pies by 2 points.

Bosenavulagi has been lively and certainly looks to be a prospect- Tohilll has also made an impression. Reid marks strongly again on the lead- from 25 metres he misses what should have been a soda. He has 1 goal 3 points and the Pies leads by 4 points.

Pies have not been getting a great run from the umpires but are persisting. Reid and Crocker share the ball on the wing- the Pies are repulsed by stoic Blues defense. Wills eventually drives it forward,Goldy is held, but the umpire, somehow, does not see it. Crocker's kick is marked on the line by Silvagni.
