Either I miss the point you are making or I have forgotten about what happened in mid 2010’s team. We won the flag so surely we wouldn’t have had too many cracks to paper over? We had a pretty fine team.
Guessing RMb is thinking more of the Buckley era, particularly from 2014 to 2017 when we missed the finals but occasionally got up to beat good teams.

Calton was copping it last week too though....Not fussed anymore with the so-called reverse psychology. I believe its more likely to work the other way, IMO, a few errors and they will tighten up, second guess.

Just dont want Ash Johnson in the ruck TBH for prolonged periods. GWS dominated clearances when Mason was rested on Sunday

Barring any kind of new injury that we might come accross during the week it normally surfaces on friday this is the line up ill have v Blues.

FB: Murphy Moore IQ
CB: N Daicos Maynard Crisp
C: WHE Pendles J Daicos
CF: McCreery Cox Adams
FF: Johnson Checkers Hill
R: Cameron Mitchell JDG
INT: Eliott Ginny Noble Macov
SUB: McInnes

Kind of going into it with a taller forward line. The back 6 looks set. We have 2 forward and defender and mid on int with Reef as sub.
Think we lack height accross the half forward line so i have cox as chf.

Leave it to Murphy, he was half way there v Giants. Naicos will be happy enough, apparently, to cover any fines.

Nah, I’ll like to see Howey at HB and Naicos running through the centre.

Personally, I'd also like to see Sidebottom in the team....

Blue bellies have copped a lot of shit, from media and fans, and Voss the toss is in savage mood, they will come out breathing fire for sure. Just hold on for the first twenty mins or so, they will run out of gas, they may get the first couple of goals, then they will peter out, slow down, and we can start too reel the bastards in. Go in at halftime with a small lead, then wear the pricks out, wear them down, pressure, tackles, then in last qtr run over them, as we do in all our games. Be tough game, this is their last stand more or less, for any hope of top four, so we must be ready for them. and im sure our coach will warn our guys, have us primed to withstand these bluescum assholes. just win, by any margin, really.

^ personally, I think bringing Cameron in off such a long break with knee issues is a huge, and in the bigger picture of the season ....big mistake. I know the club will know far better than I.

What is the harm in giving him half to three quaters in the VFL?

So worst thing that happens.... we drop the game against Carlton???...I can live with that...provided we are getting players back who are fit and ready to go. The real prize is at the end of the season...not round 10.

We have two....slightly....easier oppents to come. (Not such thing as an easy game anymore). Bring Cameron back for either of these.

If the club thinks he's ready, I'd bring Cameron straight it in and play him for 50-60% of the game.

Cox will appreciate some relief in the ruck and Johnson can do his stuff up forward.

I agree. Cameron may be coming back from a knee but Cox has only recently come back from a spleen. Coxy might have been great on the weekend but I'd still be a little gentle with his loading. Second game back can be difficult.

As a side note, if anyone here had just come back from Cox's injury, how would you have gone in that marking contest at the city end when he ran on to McCreery's kick, arms up, slamming his torso into Haynes coming the other way?

No way in hell I would have even competed for that ball, even if I hadn't just gotten over a ruptured spleen and a couple of litres of blood loss. Mase not only kept his eyes on it all the way into his hands, but took the grab, took the body hit, flattened Haynes and then gave him a mouthful
