Henry will stay - 3 year deal. Need to resolve the Grundy / DeGoey situation first. Ollie hasn't indicated he wants to leave. This is all media speculation.

Of course Geelong are in his ear since day one. They do that with every player. Look no further than Dangerfield

Don't want to be here in these exciting times? Then %$^ right off!

In saying that, I'd still like him to stay :)

Sounds like a solid plan to me. Get it done, Pies!

What if we were to reverse the situation and go after Ollie's brother from Geelong through next year?

But that’s the thing - none of us really know where his head and heart are at though do we…? Either do we know the nature of what the club offered him for certain.

I don’t think it can ever be that binary. These are more nuanced decisions than we want them to be. Maybe he “wants to play for the pies” if he’s paid $400k but not if he’s paid $250k. Or oppositely if he “wants” to play for the pies should he shut up and take minimum wage to do so?

Yes - I get we want players who have bought in, but I don’t think it’s ever as simple as in/out and we (joe public) can’t ever really know what’s going through a players head. I don’t think I have seen a single article quoting the player himself about his wants and thoughts.

His brother says he has no idea and hasn’t spoken to him about it.

I too am coming around to the idea of him leaving. I don't want him to leave - I think he will be a star - but it's warning signs now at his first contract negotiation that he is wanting more $$ despite not yet being worthy of it. It is a sign of things to come, where he'll potentially pull the same stunt every renegotiation. Pay me more, or else...
It's quite pathetic
It does my head in that elite sports is about the only industry that is expected to pay employees based on potential without earning it first. I wish I could ask my employer to pay me 30% more and THEN I'll work harder. I'd be out on my ass quick smart.

Only if you threatened to take up a lucrative offer from a rival competitor company first!
That usually lubricates negotiations; or lands you in court for breech of intellectual property.
Either way, it's nice to feel important!

Ratugolea and Knarkle possible trade options apparently!!.. Thoughts?

Narkle has been delisted, so if we want him, we can just get him. But it's a pass from me.

Rat... Is OK, but not quite good enough.

I really think we should be getting a late first round pick for Henry. The above two together come no where near that.

My understanding is Collingwood still very much want him. Have said as much to him and his manager. We have also been very clear that the price for him to leave is a First round pick.
