Would you say we made the right call in rejecting him? (Twice?).

He did play ok in 2016 and 17 (42 games) but fell away after that (28 games since).

Would he have helped us get over the line in 2018 or 19?

Depends upon how highly you rate Grundy who can only play in the ruck. They couldn't play in the same team. My view is that he wouldn't have helped us as I prefer what we have.

^ Well, the last two games they played against each other were in round 14 of 2018 and in round 8 of 2019. Unsurprisingly, since Grundy is the best ruckman of the last 50 years, the stats do not paint a pretty picture for Kreuzer.

In the 2018 game, Grundy had 34 hitouts to Kreuzer's 6 (Collingwood won the team total 40 to 14) and 20 disposals to Kreuzer's 9.

In the 2019 game, Grundy had 48 hitouts to Kreuzer's 22 (Collingwood won the team total 50 to 26), 25 disposals to Kreuzer's 14 and kicked 2 goals to Kreuzer's zip. Grundy got the 3 Brownlow votes that day.

Nein, niet, no. Let's only play a team of ruckmen.

Yes it was, because we are adept at retaining our own oft-injured players way too long....Langdon.....Reid......

Haven't been able to say Toooves! since Allan Toovey retired. Saying Kruuuze! could plug the gap. But seriously no.

Do we need to back fill a quota of perpetually injured players next year, given some of our likely retirements?

Glad some commonsense prevailed. He wasn’t sufficiently injured or aged to recruit him with two first round draft picks

Or is Carlton just the place to go to destroy the development of young players?

All those years of losing and tanking for what?

A losing culture and too much pressure on these top picks.
