Clearly Henry is an elite marking option. The biggest problem with his was his attitude. It was evident at every game I was at that all game other forwards and midfielders had to instruct him to pick up a player, lead over there, do t just stand there follow your opponent running down the ground. It wasn’t like once here or there but almost every time the ball came into our forward line.
I kept waiting to see an improvement but it did t come. He had no desire to chase down or apply defensive pressure at all. Initially I thought maybe he just has really poor fitness, but you could see his face and demeanour when constantly needing to be told where to go and what to do.
Henry could become a star but to carry a poor attitude and someone that doesn’t seem to care or learn our game plan is a risk I think is worth letting go for another first round pick regardless of his elite talent.

He has to be a high first round draft pick or no dice (inside top
or their 17 pick and a round 2 pick for our round 5 pick

Officially requested trade. Went at 10 in the draft I think, has improved, must be a first rounder.

Nah didn’t go at 10, more like 20 I’d say.

I was hoping to be wrong but I warned this was a very real possibility months ago so I'm not shocked to be sitting here.
For the clubs sake I hope Henry was always determined to go play with his brother at Geelong and couldn't have been convinced to resist the lure of home for an extra 100K a season.
I expect Henry to be a lock in the Geelong team by round 1 2024, he has fantastic potential, so an extra $100,000 now is chump change in what should be a long 10+ year career if his body holds up.
One does wonder if things might have played out differently also if he had of felt more involved in the latter stages of our winning streak and/or participated in the final series.
Alas the club made their decisions, Henry has now made his so we must demand a 1st round pick in return and make it very clear we are deadly serious with our threat of not only sending him to the draft but redrafting him ahead of Geelong if that selection is not offered.
The kid has the makings of a star so I wouldn't hesitate to pull that trigger and show we aren't going to be dictated to.

Geelong are in no position to put forward a rubbish offer. If they do, walk away.
They'll be busy with Bowes and Bruhn.
There's a few ways this could go, but please not another Nick Davis situation where we get bent over. And not a reverse Luke Ball situation where we dont trade and he gets there anyway.
I expect it to drag out a bit and I cbf reading about it everyday until it happens.
Not every player gets to their club of choice. But please dont accept a lowball offer.

Even a lowball offer in the AFL is far more than most people in the real world are likely to get in their early 20's.
Suck it up sunshine and prove you're worth more money, and it will come if you are, or see how much Geelong values you by how much they're prepared to pay.
I have no problem pushing him into the draft if Geelong don't play ball and he won't sign. He can play VFL until he gets his head straight.
