Brayden Maynard - Bruz

No love for Magden
Take all the whipping boys of the last 10 years, roll them up into one and you get Jack Magden. No Collingwood player is pilloried on Nick's as much as he is.
I understand that he'll never be a Rance, Jakovitch or Picken but he's serviceable, puts in and is rarely injured. Yes he commits clangers, but surely no more than Maynard. I'm not saying that he has the talent of Maynard but supporters don't give him the free pass that other players get.
Think about it. He plays in a backline that's under constant pressure due to our underperforming midfield. The mainstay of the backline Darcy Moore isn't there. He and Roughead have to handle opposition talls week after week. I think they deserve credit.
I predict that Jack Magden will play more than 100 games for Collingwood. Hedesrves recognition.

I place him amongst other greats like Steve Ryan, Jason Wild & Scott Patterson.Harrysz wrote:^
You see the opposition lift when he has the ball.
Ask yourself, would he be picked up if delisted?

Mainly talking about having a free run at playing seniors. He could benefit from new coaches who see something different in him too.FrankieGoesToCollingwood wrote:in what way would this environment bring about change better than the one he's currently in?
He gets picked at number 9 in the national draft so he has some potential and has had injury problems (broken jaw and hip operation) holding him back.
He could be worth a shot.

Here's the career stats comparison between Weideman and that giant amongst KPFs, Jesse White: https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_ ... 1=C&fid2=C
Anyone who is on the wrong side of a career stats comparison with Jesse White after their 6th season should probably not be playing in the AFL.

So who has the frame, is cheap and gettable and could split a contest for us in the square next season?

We better push his stocks down so we can pick him up for a late fourth rounder.Pies4shaw wrote:Here's the career stats comparison between Weideman and that giant amongst KPFs, Jesse White: https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_ ... 1=C&fid2=C

absolutely...if it were possible. With our salary cap issues, I doubt that we could have recruited anyone, which is what played out.inxs88 wrote:The mistake we made last year was not recruiting Jessie Hogan to the Pies. Seeing his contested marking yesterday was a reminder.
But yeah, what an asset for GWS.

Except that we couldn’t afford to contract an apprentice jockey, let alone a quality, albeit troubled talent.
We keep going in circles about we should have recruited Wright, we should have recruited Hogan, we should have recruited Brown.
Yes we should have but it’s a moot point when you don’t have the cap space to do so.
Let’s clear the decks first ( which I assume has now been done ) and then I’m sure we will load up at some point sooner than later. It’s not like we’re contending for a flag in the next couple years. Whether we were to pull the trigger this or the next, either year would make little difference as to where will be in three years time anyway.

Think how much fun I could have with the Hogan/black and white nWo themes.
We could have even brought over Savage and create the Mega Powers.
