He’s more.
He has brought stability, respect, humility, just humanised the place.
Knock down egotistical selfish behaviours, install an all in team attitude, everyone is a leader, everyone’s opinion matters.
Watch the way the players communicate and interact during games. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Ange will be the best soccer(football) coach Australia has ever produced. Only coach to win silverware for the national team, and has been successful everywhere he has been. Wish he wasn’t snatched away from Victory before bringing us success.Uncle Jack wrote:He's the Ange Postacoglou of the AFL. Or vice versa. Or Ted lasso. Or Ange Lasso

After that interview 3 things stand out for me.Pep wrote:Here is an hour long interview of our coach going through a bit of his history and methods of how he got to be who he is, and the culture he wanted to build. A good listen.

1. Be authentic.
2. Winning by enabling others.
3. Constant self reflection and improvement.
Not just a great coach but a truly beautiful person.
We are SO lucky to have him.

On the interview with Luke Darcy he explained where “Fly” came from (and I’m not sure he’s keen on it)
It came from when the team went to see Back to the Future someone commented his hair do was like Marty McFly so they started calling him that
Later the Mc got dropped to be just Fly

I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right

Re: Welcome to Collingwood, Coach Craig McRae
Fly has goodwill for at least the next 2-3 years. Of course he's not immune to criticism, but he's done too much good for us to turn on him now.
Him and his assistants were exceptional in 2022-23, so they deserve a period of grace to sort out our current issues and help propel us back up the ladder.
Fly was initially appointed to oversee a rebuild, so the fact that he did everything to extract everything out of the list he inherited demonstrates that he can coach. Now is the time to get behind him and support him through this tough period.

Re: Welcome to Collingwood, Coach Craig McRae
I agree Jezza. But he can’t be unaccountable. It’s great to always want to have winning traits. I applaud that. I just hope he is being honest with himself on the state of youth development, our lack of tactical nouse, an honest assessment of the list and to be blunt, our ability to be great winners when we win but fake winners when we lose. We are not winning. The smiles and high fives to me are not genuine. I would like him to see that.
Of course he is in the chair for the rebuild. It could be 5 years. I’m fine with that and I want fly to lead it. Just stop fcking up his early draft picks Collingwood ffs and learn how to draft well quickly.
