i dont go by stats, if i did i wouldnt be bagging someone who 20 odd possesions, he just looked a little rushed to me, fumbled around goals a few times, turned it over by foot a few times, i didnt think he played well at all, certainly no where near our best. just my take.sportingtragic wrote:thomas was just about best on ground.Defender wrote: worst

its not about stats (although he had a more than reasonable 21 and a goal). daisy undertook one of the more important roles of the match, playing as a defensive forward tagging the dangerous rebound of ryan griffen. daisy stopped griffen's run off half back where dogs launch most attacks and hurt him going the other way. each to their own re player assessments but i dont understand ppl who just look at the stat sheet.
3. thomas
2. wellingham
1. shaw
johnno, who i wasnt convinced should even be picked, is unlucky for a similarly important job on akermanis in the second half. shut him down completely.

Yep agree as well. Very happy with Johnno's game and there is no way Daisy was in our worst. Don't know about BOG but definitely in our top 10.watt price tully wrote:Well written & good points especially with respect to Thomas & Johnno.sportingtragic wrote:thomas was just about best on ground.Defender wrote: worst

3- Swanny, very good job in the middle plus 3 goals (could this be his brownlow year?)
2- Leroy- Presented well and i thought freed up the likes of didak, medhurst and davis. Set up a few and crashed packs for 4 quarters.
1- Shazza- great first half and might have ended up with 30+ touches if not for hall's elbow. Great in a clearance situation and will only get better.
Could have got votes- Heater, Max and Harry all contolled the backline, rebounded well and not only repelled the dogs but set up numerous attacks for us. Likewise Dids, Medhurst, Davis- all kicked goals, great defensive pressure inside our forward 50 and capitalised well on the hard work of the midfield.
GREAT WIN!!!

the clangers he did have were important and his fumbles around goal were at important times too, i guess i marked his card a tad early, sorry daisy.
