That's why the penalty is 4 years for tampering. It's as much as you'd get if you used PEDS.

So if you refuse a test or tamper, you pretty much accept the maximum penalty.

It sounds like Ings loves publicity. He's one of these rent-a-quote guys.

Richo and Hamish McLachlan just now, full of sympathy for Rioli and hoping he's cleared.

Mods, what I said about Ligandrol is true. Athletes were dodging tests, knowing that it could only be detected for up to 3 days. However new technology allowed the drug to be detected up to 7 days after consumption -- but this was kept quiet and not made public. Hence why a high profile athlete was caught out, and many others had panic attacks.

So WCE are now saying that Willy was struggling to urinate so he decided to pour in the energy drink out of frustration. Interesting to see how that pans out.

While they're testing for drugs they should test for brains, too.

We have a second allegation concerning Rioli. This one concerns match-day testing following their elimination final against Essendon. Apparently, he tested positive to cannabis. This is quite a separate issue from the "urine substitution" one.

Reported on SEN. Nothing on the AFL site, yet, but SEN says they are reading from an AFL press release.

More, as they say, to come.

Here's the confirmation: https://www.sen.com.au/news/2019/09/24/ ... violation/

The following is said to be the text of the official AFL statement:

The AFL has confirmed that William Rioli of the West Coast Eagles has been notified of a further Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) and a potential violation of the Australian Football Anti-Doping Code (Code) in respect of a test conducted by ASADA on September 5, 2019.

The test was conducted following the West Coast Eagles’ elimination final against Essendon.

The September 5, 2019 sample has tested positive for a metabolite of cannabis, which is an In-Competition Prohibited Substance under the Code.

On September 11, 2019 Rioli was notified of an Adverse Analytical Finding for Urine Substitution being a Prohibited Method under the Code following an Out-of-Competition doping control test on 20 August 2019.

The West Coast Eagles have been made aware of this finding and will continue to provide support for Rioli.

It is important that Rioli be provided a fair process. As a result, the AFL will not be providing further detail on this case at this time.

Further confirmation. Remarkably, there's nothing on the AFL website, yet.
