Fly will make the tough and necessary decisions needed for the betterment of the Club. He has high expectations that every player needs to be as disciplined as Pendles, and be motivated by a professional attitude. We have been crying out for this type of leadership for a while. There will be a few 'dented ego's' once training resumes .... Expect some changes to the list.

Now THAT was one thing Eddie was very good at, he could get enthusiastic over two cane toads having a race. !

WELCOME Craig, as your old mate Johnno Brown said, you tick all boxes, and is a brilliant appointment by the Magpies. Now for our SWEET LITTLE SIXTEEN PREMIERSHIP. ! No pressure, all in good time, but make it happen mate, we are with you all the way !

I was initially keen for Don Pyke to get the job, but he is now looking to take the West Coast Eagles job when Simpson gets sacked next year.
From what I've seen Fly McRae looks promising. He reminded me in looks and the way he speaks of Melbourne Storm Coaching hero Craig Bellamy. If he can do half as well as him then that will be good enough for me!!

Still would of liked to see some form of excitement and enthusiasm from him. If he has to win the support of members to survive, he needs to connect and showing excitement would have done that.schuey07 wrote:I prefer this from the board, rather than Eddie’s hysterical style. Calm and boring is what we need.magpieazza wrote:Very happy with McRae and his personality will be ideal for Collingwood.
Love the way he flat batted some of the questions, especially from Chompers, gave him nothing.!! hahaha
Geez I miss Eddies passion and spark when he was prez though. The two fellas on the right of the screen of the announcement were in one word, bland.

Enjoyed McRae's interview, he spoke very well and seemed to have a high level of sincerity in the way he carried himself.
Can't help but feel optimistic, though expect there is a long road ahead and it's such a tough business.
Trust part of his welcome pack to the job would be to point him in the direction of Nick's should he require any expert advice.

The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.
