I don't know why suddenly there is such a reaction to the umpiring -

it's been going on for years - I threatened to give footy up last year cos I was so outraged at consistently being on the receiving end of bad decisions , but realisticly I could no more give up Collingwood than give up breathing .

Essenscum got a good run ( fair ) from McLaren after Hirdy put the heat on him - Who's on our long term injury list ??? Cos if a Collingwood player did what Hird did - he'd be fined & suspended for sure , not given a job by the umps like the golden child Hird.

When Tex has credability ala Wakes, Clemo, Scarlett, Michael, Lepprosy etc he will get away with 4 out of the 5 he got pinged for yesterday. He just didn't get the 'star calls'. He's got a healthy does of mongrel in him though.

The umpiring in the Lions V Swans was just as bad.The Lions tried their usual CRAP to cheat and manipulate BUT the Swans beat them at their own game.
McClaren tried to make it look like it was all accidental,BUT his thinking makes him look like a fool.

Tis time that the umpires had a look at McClaren and either retired him or put him to the VFL foer a few weeks.

Hope that we dont get him next weekend.

I heard an interesting stat after the game last night on AW.

They said since Hird said what he said, McLaren has done one Essendon game in that time.

Now why do we have to put up with the git?

I was standing up, screaming abuse, throwing bottles, spitting at the maggot, chuckin my hot chips all over the bloke in front of me...

...the missus was upset too, I made an awful mess of the living room.

Seriously though, umpiring has been a major concern all season starting with the rucking disasters in the Wizzo. Ever since we put the idiots in coloured outfits they think they're freakin movie stars & want to be noticed. I'm watching the Richmond game and just heard that the reason theres no umpires mics today (the only useful thing on that stupid 'live & active' ripoff) is that the umps have decided that its too hot to wear microphones today! No, I didnt say 20 kilo backpacks, but microphones!

And therein lies the problem, they are a bunch of overpaid prima-donnas enjoying the immunity their holy-cow status affords them, and wanting to make an impact on the game. I have no doubt McLaren earned 3 votes in the Carlton B&F yesterday. (God I wish Fox would shove that thrash-metal theme song that's pounding my eardrums as I type!).

Although thoroughly overjoyed at the outcome, I would be SCREAMING if I was a Brizroy supporter. (oh thanks Ayres, you A$$HOLE - just gave away the Port/Adelaide result!!!! AAARRGGHHHH!!!)

Imagine leading for the whole game only to have the umpire change the result after the siren! No one would have complained much if Hall had missed out on a free kick (Healy's just given an umpire a huge serve!), and although it was 'there' it was minor & technical. So why pay it other than to make a name?

And they want to add ANOTHER maggot to the game!?

Get real AFL, and let people speak. Collingwood should speak out regardless of fines, because having won, they're in a position to make a point that needs to be made without the taint of 'sour grapes'.

Something needs to be done.

Having said that, how delicious was it that one of the 'thugs', in Scott, was the one to give the game to Sydney? Sweeeeeet!

The worst part of the umpiring fiasco is that there have been some absolute ball-tearers of football games in the last coupla weeks.

What amazed me about Channel 10 was not only was Throbby Balls disgusted by the decisions against the Pies but he was clearly going for the Pies all day.

You're bloody joking aren't you Big T . walls agreed with every decision that maggot made. Highlighting Reeces 2 in a row and agreeing with the worst decision of ALL time , the Wakes non mark and holding the ball free .

It's been a well known fact for a long time that this guy is incompetant and a dead set wanker when it comes to umpiring. I'm not really all that surprised at the dreadful display. (oh wait, I can't say that.. his family may have been offended like they were last yr after the negative comments surrounding him)

I think he was 'sort of' going for the pies, and particularly Taz to do well, so he could claim that he was just trying to inspire Taz into doing better with his attack.

Wallsy won us the game, y'see.

Perhaps the umpires could use the same excuse?
