I'd say so, but on the off chance that it's true...

...I'll just leave this here.

If true, this is a pretty reasonable outcome I reckon. It was my first request when I'd heard Beamer was leaving never expecting it to pan out.

Need to wait patiently.....

2 ways you can view it brisbane don't rate beams and his family situation or brisbane know they can get him for nothing next season with out losing anything they already have.

^^Most likely that Brisbane were bluffing and hoping to get him cheap. They'll up their offer. If they don't get a deal done, there's every chance Beams will go to another club.

Hope so but I give it 5% chance of being True

Probably but Pickering going over to Adelaide yesterday to see Aish (amongst others in his stable?) does offer some hope.

We'd be stupid to not and at least try and convince him to declare he wants out of Brisbane.

Well Maybe - I say it more likely could be Aish and Pick 21 and Pick 25 for Beams

Our best bet is to hold firm, they'll cough up the goods when the clock is low, they'd be damn insane not too.

If 5 and Aish is legit take it and run - forget swapping other picks.

This effectively gives us 2 good cracks at replacing one A grade player

Negotiation 101
The party that stands to gain the most will compromise the most to get the deal done.
Brisbane clearly have the most to gain. They get a 25y AA ready made A-Grade midfielder in the prime of his career who they will happily pay ~800K per year over 5 years. Collingwood stand to receive 2 unknowns for picks 5 & 25. Lions know what they are paying for and that's why they have thrown $800K at him.

On the flip side, Collingwood have the contract with Beams for 2015. Brisbane either belly up or we walk and we get one more year from Beams and a compensation pick next year. The worst we can do is a 1st round compo pick. That will be a 10 year player.

The Brions have more to lose if they fail to get a deal across the line this year. They lose an opportunity given: 1) They have salary cap space. 2) What if Beams' father passes away - god forbid. He might not want to go, he may choose GWS; and 3) What if Beams has a change of heart or the Pies find $800K in the cap and keep him next year anyway. If the Lions want him - they will pay.

After all thats happened I dont think it would be good if he stayed even if we only get 5 and 25, a better deal would be great but I'd rather he wasnt at collingwood next season.

If it's Pick 5 and Aish - where do we sign?

It was a toss up last year between selecting Aish and Sharenberg - to have both would be awesome.

Which is fair because each of those "cracks" has about a 50% chance of coming good. If we get them both, it'll be a toss of the coin who's the better player in 5 years time. You just can't tell with 18/19 year olds.
