Should have been a premiership player, but all his efforts provided us supporters with the 2023 CUP. We will forever be in your debt mate.

goodluck at the suns.

Thought I better add my thanks before this thread dissappears forever. I like the guy. Shame he didnt get a medal in 2023. Wish him all the best.

Hard to think of a more successful mid-season draftee so far... (although I think Sam Durham might have John covered by the end of their careers).
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...

Sorry to both John and Jai but didn’t MSD pick Marion Pickett win a VFL flag and Premiership flag in consecutive weeks?

Always been a big fan of John. Worked his arse off. Didn’t get a premiership medal but should have, was a huge part of 2023 success. Wish him all the best.

I do wish John had Ginnies medal!

Without him we may not have made top 4. So cruel. All the best Johnny, except against us! And don’t anyone dare booo!

Markov took his spot, not Ginnivan. And if he had played instead of Markov, Collingwood would not have won - Markov kept bullyboy-Rayner under wraps. It came down to a question of physical presence, that's all.

So far, one of the biggest success stories of the MSD.

To play over 100 games is a magnificent achievement for a MSD pick. Sadly, he missed out on the flag, but he will always be welcomed back to Collingwood once his playing days with Gold Coast are done.

Always admired him as a player, right from the beginning, and am sad to see him go – particularly without getting to play in a premiership. Wish him all the best with the Suns.
