Very funny.
Question....who is the back up?
Blair or Mayne or maybe we could rookie list Jack Blair.
We could sow great confusion on the forward line with both Blair's!
Which Blair would take the worst defender?
That would be a major headache for the opposition.

Mayne does make Blair more expendable because he is an elite pressure forward. He's a medium forward though, not a small and should be our first picked, well ahead of Crocker.
When Fasolo and Elliott are both healthy there's a chance Blair may be tipped out of the side now that we have Mayne. Three small forwards out of 6 is not ideal. We have always loved what Blair brings to the team though, and having two elite pressure players in the forward line would still be tempting.

So funny.
Blair is not an elite pressure player.
Mayne may well be there.
Blair is very good at tackling in close but as soon as
the ball gets to the outside he is useless.
He rarely chases down a player like Varcoe can.
He also often side stepped as the opposition player is running forward.

As for Blair he may become a 150 game player.

To think that such a dud can make it to this mark is truly amazing.
So well done to the Hobbit.
When you retire or finally get delisted then you can hang your hat up high.
( about 4 feet up )
And marvel that you were at Collingwood and not some other club.
He might need a hand to reach that hat stand but yeah, I'm very very very very very very very happy! I'll start sharpening my nails now!
Go Blair!!!!!!
Well TP there is nothing wrong with his attitude, effort or commitment.
Hmm, that's like looking in the mirror for me! I was always the one busting my arse on the court! Maybe that's why I like him! You gotta love hard workers!
And I'm really glad you can see that in Blair, cheers

I hope takes up the contact offer and plays well for us in 2017. The same people who criticise him are the same people on this forum who state that the club is a failure due to the number of 2010 premiership players who have left the club.
He always gives everything he has. He may be small, he may not be the most talented player but he gives what he's got. He has a lot bigger set of cohunas than some of the individuals on this forum who display little backbone and want everyone sacked all of the time. I'll take Blair over this set of clowns every day of the week. You can be confident he will stand up. (although it may not be obvious due to his lack of height)

Yep, another whinge about other posters that you don't agree with.
And yes you can be confident that he will kick around 12 to 16 goals in a full season.
That is what he has consistently done in the last 5 years.
How great.
And remember when the fast opposition player breaks down the ground remember to look 30 metres behind and there will be Blair.
And then just quietly think ...who are the clowns here?

So Thompsoc, you can bag Blair but criticise others on this board who are critical of you, i.e. 7167. That's the mentality.
Blair has earnt his stripes, he is not expected to win the brownlow but he has a crack, every game. I agree with 7167, " He (Blair) has a lot bigger set of cohunas than some of the individuals on this forum....."

He's not talented enough to be an automatic pick in any modern finals-standard AFL side.
On the other hand, he's in career-best form (which doesn't say all that much, granted, seeing it hasn't been a particularly great career) and played almost every game this year. He has been much, much better at putting in even performances week to week - he is still weakest against the quality sides but the difference between his best and his zero-impact worst has been a lot smaller than it used to be.
In other words, no-one else in our squad has been good enough to push him out of the 22.
So for mine, we sign him one one more time and tell our kids that, if they really want to be senior footballers and they can't even kick J. Blair our of the side yet, then they have a lot of bloody work to do. And if you make the team, don't relax son: J. Blair won't give up, not ever, and if you slack off, he'll be right on your hammer.
Blair, in short, is our human qualifying time. In the Olympics, if you can't run under 19.2, you are not going to challenge for te finals and you don't get to fly to Rio. At Collingwood, if you are a small and you can't push J. Blair into the seconds, you're not good enough for seniors kiddo. Try harder.

Seems more likely that he will be at another club if you ask me.
NO Big Loss
IF he goes elsewhere

Wow.
Whinge whinge whinge about other posters.
Last time I looked this was a forum about CFC not about certain posters.
But lets get confused about the issue.

Now that is an understatement.
No one wants him. And if they do ...drive him as quick as possible to his new abode.

Well TP there is nothing wrong with his attitude, effort or commitment.
In Blairs defence, ALL clubs have players like him, so called list cloggers who keep getting games on end, and to be perfectly honest, he is far, far from the worst player I have seen to don the black n white Guernsey.
