Adams actually played pretty well against the Bulldogs from what I recall being at the game. It is the first time I have been happy with his temperament, decision making and disposal. I think he took a big step forward on the weekend and let's hope he keeps going. I agree that a bit of confidence goes a long way.

To put Adams' performance in perspective, I actually missed most of the last quarter of the game. To 3qtr time I had him close to best on ground. When I came on to the forums I had to piece together what happened in the last quarter to work out why there was so much venom being posted about him.
The amount of idiots who came out of the woodwork to slam the kid over 20 mins of poor footy is astonishing, especially since there were others (Blair comes first to mind) who did absolutely nothing all day and seem to be escaping criticism

I don't want to be taken to support the views of those who have called for Adams to be sacked or traded but the distinction between the 2 is probably that we all know Blair is a former rookie who has limitations, whereas Adams was the trade for one of the best-performed big game players to wear the black and white in the last 50 years. I understand the sentiment, even if I don't share it - I still haven't forgiven Hafey for trading Carman, either.
Personally, I think Buckley made the right decision but it would be easier to take if Adams didn't do stupid things at key moments. Thus, you didn't see the last quarter - by contrast I only arrived home and turned on the TV as Pendlebury kicked the 2nd last goal. Consequently, what I saw was a team taking control, getting within a point and then a face-palm moment from Adams. That'd be OK if it was a one-off but he was absolutely dreadful when he came on against Geelong, so that the initial poor impression is perhaps reinforced.

Who cares if he was a former rookie? Blair has been in the senior team since 2010 now, and regardless of his limitations, 7 disposals from a guy being rotated through the midfield is completely unacceptable. If he and several others had actually performed as well as Adams did on Sunday then we wouldn't have been in the position of trying to steal a win in the final minutes in the first place.

Could not say it better myself

Adams has some weaknesses in his kicking skills, which he clearly recognises and is working on.
Nevertheless, he is already a fantastic player who achieved the highest number of contested possessions on the weekend than I can ever remember from any player. His game against the Bulldogs was sensational. He is a tough in an under extraction machine - just what we need.

The only Pies players I have never taken too, when they played, was tex walker, chris perry, Patterson, guy Richards, wild, and one or two other guys who got many games in the early year of the Malthousian era. Taylor Adams is far and away, better than those types.
As a fan, I don't think it's right to hate on any Collingwood player, no matter how bad they are, or even if they leave for another club. The closest I've come is Heath Shaw last year.
But that's just me, I really don't care if others express themselves differently. For Piesnchess it's ok to hate on players if they're crap. For some, anyone is fair game. Who cares? In the end none of it makes a jot of difference. Any forum needs a diversity of opinion and modes of expression and it's easy for me to skip over any posts I don't like.
The fact is that Adams did some things very poorly on Sunday. He did them more poorly than anyone else on the team. Some will react to that with venom, others will pretend it didn't happen and that he was great, others still will fall somewhere in between. Me? I've got no problem with saying that, despite believing he will be a very good player for us, just at the moment he has some deficiencies to work on and, in my view, is not ready for the responsibility of playing as our number 1 in and under player.
Nicely stated
