Great to see Moore hitting his straps. Adams was great all night, along with Maynard, Crisp got us going. We missed Checkers. Greenwood's physicality is great to have back we have really missed him. I like Trey Roscoe he can play and has some attitude very old school Collingwood. I hope Stevo comes back next week, we miss his class especially with Sidey out.

Good news:
1)in the final quarter, Mason cox remembered how to play. It looked like the dangerous coxy of 2018, who struck fear into the opposition, not just because of his height, but also because of his ability to tap the ball forward/sideways to our advantage. He must play next week.
2) WHE received a jolt of confidence. Hopefully, he can kickstart.
3) Pendles is an absolute star who has the ability to galvanise our team. (Is this good or bad? Not sure. Bad, that the presence of one man is so electrically essential. Good, that he is there).
3) Darcy Cameron is not out for the rest of the season.
4) Darcy Moore is a defensive springboard who will draw strength from tonight. His rebound from defence is just so powerful. And likewise his reading of the play, how he bobs up at critical moments is utterly brilliant.
5) John Noble makes errors, but he is a real playmaker. Love him.
6) Magden is becoming good.
7) Greenwood had a great run for first game back in over a year. His physical impact is just so valuable. I think he will become important moving forward.
When we just chaos the ball forward, we look very dangerous.
9) North Melbourne kind of played us into a bit of form. We clearly looked more aggressive and confident than in the recent past.
10) Jaidyn stephenson can come back into this side and make a huge impact, if he wants to. In the last quarter, cox began to rediscover how to deflect and touch the ball forward, both with intention and with chaos, which we all know is exactly what JS thrives upon.
11) crispie, maynard are brilliant defenders
Bad news:
1) so few marks in f50.
2) sidey is leaving. sidey was not brilliant tonight, but he impacted at crucial moments, both in F50 and in our defence. Who will play a similar role??
3) Our midfield and Grundy still not connecting.
4) If we don't start well (which is now becoming the norm unfortunately) we retreat into conservative, defence first , supra handball and keep possession whatever the cost (even to ourselves) gibberish, which will never win games at even an average level.
5) Apparently JS is unselectable (hope this changes)
summation: we need our stars back to challenge (JDG, Adz,not banking on jeremy howe, but maybe Langdon, just to add to the Greenwood fantasia).
But we aint done yet.
I am sure that this

How many more rounds we got before we put this debacle to bed?
Someone up thread suggested tank, I think that's a good plan.
Although I'd LOVE to beat the Scum & if I'm right, this year was our chance to break even on the win/loss ratio.
Doubt it'll happen going by our form, they seem to be just that little bit ahead of us at this point.

Jezza used a good word to describe Cox tonight. He was “ serviceable “
He got rubbish delivery and Tarrant is a very good one on one last line defender.
He worked his way into the game but it was still only North.
I reckon he’s done enough to play next week but his challenge is to build on his second half. Time will tell.
Greenwood was a revelation. Will always be scrubby by foot but you want players who set the tone. He did it from the opening bounce tonight.

His hardness that was missing in last year’s prelim due to his ACL is what ultimately cost us a spot in the GF. Would have set the tone on a wet, miserable day vs the GWS upstarts. Instead our soft underbelly was exposed with no tough players (physically AND mentally) to get at the Giants, with either hard tackles, scrag wrestles off the ball, and verbal assaults.Pies2016 wrote:Jezza used a good word to describe Cox tonight. We’re ultimately a ‘nice bunch of blokes’.

Yep. Absolutely. From the start he declared: boys, this is how you do it. You go in with desperation, and you absolutely refuse to give up. You drive through the contest. When I saw him tonight, i thought, yeah this is exactly what we have been missing. It is almost as if we had forgotten this desperation and this attack on the ball. I think Levi made a huge impact. Hopefully our coaches will highlight exactly what he brought to the team tonight, because it is a quality that we have been so horribly lacking over the recent weeks.Pies2016 wrote:

^ Why on earth would he get reported for that tackle?
As everyone said, a good win after a bad start, albeit not overly convincing. Score flattered North a bit, we served up their first 2 goals on a platter and almost a 3rd
Good to see 9 goal kickers and double digit goals again though
Appleby tried hard and got some of it but mostly kicked kicked a defender - cannot believe he is getting picked ahead of Stevo
The biggest worry for me was just 2 marks and 3 tackles I50, and only 6 contested marks for the whole game. We also lost both the hitouts and clearances
I feel we'll need to do better than that on Sunday to get the win but hopefully a springboard
