When Adams has more consistent disposal quality around him in the back half he will be All-Australian. Think young Sam Mitchell, with Hodge's aggro streak. 3-4 years. Mark my words.

I am a bull on Adams too. Not quite at DTM levels yet though!

He gets plenty of it but wastes his opportunities and during the first half against scum all of his kicks were to advantage of scum players. I agree with Cam he will be good in several years but really needs to work on improving his disposal as do many of our plays from Swannie down the playing list.

I've watched Adam's games closely since the Western Bulldogs loss (also to see if Buckley would drop him)

He does get a lot of the ball, does some good things (kicked a good goal against Hawthorn), but his disposal is still horribly inconsistent. Add to that his decision making sometimes.

If he is a long term replacement for Ball, and as he is such a young player I am happy to give him a go.

There has also been some acknowledgement in the media that this is an area he needs to improve in his game.

I think familiarity breeds consistency. Players coming into the side always struggle with team structures and that inate sense of knowing what a team mate will do. One of the reasons I think White will get better with time as we settle the lineup. It's equally an issue for Adams. It's why in an ideal world you would allow new recruits to get a solid grounding at VFL level prior to getting a senior game. Our revolving door of injured players has been very disruptive.

Exactly right.

And it is exactly this type of deep intelligent thinking that the "perceptive fellow" and negative drongos don't do. It seems totally beyond them to look at results rationally but far easier to knock the living daylights out of Collingwood players.
As you have said (& I said this months ago), in an ideal world, Adams, White, Young etc would have played at VFL level together for a while to get the imprint of our game plan. Considering our predicament so far with injuries, we have done a brilliant job to develop players in the seniors while winning most of the games. Excellent work by Buck's and the club

Not sure I agree with your point about Swan, it was all about the effort and dedication with him early on, not due to lack of talent.
Adams is great at one thing thing - see ball, get ball and feed it out at all cost and today he did it exceptionally.
