The kid is all heart, but I'm really concerned he's undersized to be effective at stoppages at afl level. That, and the fact he's a bad kick are his limitations. Yes, I know the same can be said for about 6 players in our side, but saying how I see it.
In saying that, I agree that today he was better..found the ball a bit, and his decision making was improved.
Currently the biggest problem we have is we are getting killed at stoppages. Our mids are losing the stoppages and then spending their petrol tickets chasing tail.
Consequently we don't have enough running power left to turn around and hit teams on the counter.

We won the clearances by 6 today, though lost centre clearances by 3.
Our best clearance winners:
Beams: 7
Lumumba: 7 (best midfield game he's played)
Blair: 5
Pendlebury: 5
Adams: 4

Well done boys!
The downside of playing a tagger at the centre bounces instead of another pure mid?AN_Inkling wrote:We won the clearances by 6 today, though lost centre clearances by 3.

On a night he doesn't do his job well enough and contain the opposition player at stoppages compounds the problem as he's not likely to win many of his own.
He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD!

Caff did a pretty good job on Sloane though. Kept him to 19 touches.swoop42 wrote:The downside of playing a tagger at the centre bounces instead of another pure mid?AN_Inkling wrote:We won the clearances by 6 today, though lost centre clearances by 3.

Exactly. At least you understand mate.John Wren wrote:yes, damn him for being so inconsiderate.Breadcrawl wrote:Bucks cost me my Dream Team season by putting Caff on Sloane.
Damn you Bucks
damn him for trying to win a game of footy.
damn him for doing what's best for the team and not your supercoach team.
Though it's dreamteam, not that FictionFooty crap where they make up the scores out of thin air.
It's Caff I should be mad at. First he kills Ablett forcing me to use a trade then he shuts down my unique midfield trump card in Sloane.
Damn you Caff
they can smell what we're cookin'

His attack on the ball is just manic and his in close work and hands are top notch.
He'll be a fine player for us especially when he feels established in the team. I've seen him exhibit good foot skills and feel that a lot of his stuffed up kicks are due to nerves and trying too hard not to stuff up as he feels his spot is always on the line. When he's not worrying about that his kicking will improve.
The grunt midfield role is his now for mine. He offers us more than Luke Ball now, all due respect to Luke.

The sad reality of rotations is that everyone will get time out of the midfield. Midfielders now need to learn how they can impact even when not in the midfield and that is all part of his development.woftam wrote:At his best in his best position in the midfield. In fact he was clearly our best in & under player around the stoppages.jackcass wrote:Adams continues to show improvement, can't ask for more at this stage in his development.

Ball will most likely retire at Seasons end.Flashman wrote:His attack on the ball is just manic and his in close work and hands are top notch.
