Yes very interesting, don't know much about this kid but the two videos I viewed on you tube say I'm interested. Someone surely will pick him up.

Good size, quick and a beautiful left kick. Seems good in close.

For anyone interested.

I'd rather Crisp than Varcoe.

I suggested Crisp when Beams first requested a trade to Brisbane.

No interest in Crisp.

If they are willing to trade him then he can't be anything to special.

Much rather pick 21 in the hands of Hine to be honest.

Much prefer again to not deal with the lions and deal with GWS, GC and the dees.

Crisp was taken in the Rookie draft and has played 18 games in 3 years. Anyway, there's no suggestion that we're chasing him. The article above mentions that the Bombers are interested and that Brisbane would use the pick they receive to improve their offer to Geelong in the 5-team deal. I really don't see how it's going to help them though, they won't get much at all for Crisp; they already have higher picks to offer.

Posted something similar in the "what do u want" thread last week.....

But how is this one? And bare with me.....

Beams to Lions.

Merritt and pick 5 to Dees. Harry to Dees.

Pick 3 and 23 to Pies (Melb). Pick 25 to Pies (BL).

Pick 23 and 30 to North for Greenwood and Mullett.

Clark to Cats. Pick 21 to Cats (BL).

Varcoe to Pies.

Pick 25 (Coll) to Cats.
--------------

Lions lose pick 5, pick 21, pick 25 and Merrett. Gain Beams and Christensen.

Pies lose Beams, Harry, pick 30. Gain pick 3, Levi, Mullett, Varcoe.

Dees lose pick 3, pick 23, Clark. Gain Pick 5, Harry, Sause.

North lose Levi and Mullett. Gain pick 23, pick 30.

Cats lose Varcoe, Christiansen. Gain pick 21, 25 and Clark.

How do we get pick 1 out of the Saints?

Beams to Brisbane for 5, 21, 25.

25 to North for Levi.

5 & 21 plus Keeffe to Saints for Pick 1.

Pies lose Beams & Keeffe. Gain Greenwood & Pick 1 (Petracca)

Look it's not the worst idea I've seen but it would depend on quite a few things.

Brisbane being willing to give up Merrett as well as the current picks of 5,21 and 25 they had hoped to land both Beams and Christensen with.

Melbourne would also have to be prepared to go from pick 3 to 5 which would depend a lot on how likely the see GWS selecting Wright at 4.

Who knows if they have an interest in Merrett and may require pick 23 in the deal involving Trengove anyway.

Personally I'd rather keep 23 and take it to the draft with pick 25 going to North for Greenwood and 30 for Varcoe.

Geelong: Clark, 30, 48
Melbourne: Lumumba
North: 25
Brisbane: Beams, Christensen
Collingwood: Varcoe, Greenwood, 5, 21

Not overly happy with this deal but it's not atrocious. It's far better for the Lions than anyone else though.
I think that if we take this deal now, we've rolled over. It's not a good enough deal anyway and with the deadline already gone, we lose too much credibility. This deal also seems to rate Varcoe and Clarke ahead of Lumumba, which seems crazy.

Would honestly prefer to use H to get Greenwood and lose Beams for nothing next year, if it works out that way.

Talked to a cats supporter today who reckons Varcoe is above H. Right or wrong it just gave me some perspective on how we rate 'our' players v other teams players. It's hard to be totally subjective about these things.

Agreed, Clark & Varcoe are both 3rd round picks, whereas H is a definite 2nd round pick due to his consistency.

What we get for H should go to the Kangas for Greenwood.

I am content that we are willing to lose Beams next year, are Brisbane happy not gaining a player that will be in their best 3-4 players for the next 8 years?

They'll blink first.

Did ya knock him out with his own handbag? :P

I do tend to rate own boys higher than the rest, but even taking that into account I don't see how Varcoe goes past Lumumba. And just in terms of their prospects next season, which of the 3 are more likely to play 20 games, Varcoe, Clarke or H? Varcoe and Clarke could only have about 20 games left between them, the way they've been going.

themonk - I meant a 3 way trade with North and Melbourne. Don't think H will agree to go to the Kangas and they probably can't afford him anyway. Not sure if Brisbane will blink either, but Beams might and then decide to go to GWS or the Suns.

I hear ya, I meant the pick we receive for H from the Dees will go to the Kangas.

As for your mate, ask him how many times Varcoe has finished in his teams top 5 at their best & fairest, not to mention that H is an AA. Varcoe has not played decent football for several years now.

I don't disagree with you Cyrus (domesticated ape) on the durability aspect ...but you pretty much just confirmed my point. If you could guarantee 20 games outta either of these 3 I'd want Clark.
