Too late? I missed the votes! It cut out after Cloke got the 3... Who got 2 & 1? Surely Goody? Marsh?

Outstanding day for the club! Big wins in both the AFL and VFL.

Full Time.

Collingwood 13.8.86
Williamstown 12.9.81

GOALS - Cloke 4, Goodyear 2, Moloney 2, Wyatt, Macaffer, Sier, Gray, Witts

Collingwood have beaten Williamstown for the first time since the 2nd Semi Final of 2009 (6 years, 8 months and 10 days ago), and for the first time ever in a home and away match.

OVER TO YOU!!!
Thanks MB. Saw the first qtr & said g'day to Stui & John Wren but left at quarter time (knackered).

How did:

Sier
Cloke
Williams
Goldy
Witts &
Cloke go?

Saw that Cloke kicked 3 in the first quarter.

Some wag carrying drinks walking through the throng on the balcony of the Holden Centre said: "That 32 can play"

Sier: Was okay without being terribly influential. Kicked a terrific running long-range goal from outside 50 that cleared the full forward and his man and skidded through.

Cloke: 4 goals, 3 of which came in a burst in the opening term. Kicked all his goals to the Batman Avenue end. Played predominately deep with turns in the ruck later on in the game.

Williams: 'Subbed in' after quarter time, was a bit off the pace in the second term, got caught once or twice, but got better as the game went on. Suspect this is just a pit-stop for next week.

Goldsack: Not terribly influential over the whole game, but obviously performed a role in defence like he usually does. Did some nice desperate Goldsack things after half time to win/neutralise some contests. Wonder if he comes back next week...?

Witts: Played very well, obviously as 1st ruck. Apparently took a nice mark forward and goaled in the first (I say "apparently", because the video stream died for 5 minutes, in that time Cloke and Witta banged on a few). Arguably won the battle against one of the premier rucks of the VFL in Meese.

I'd say take a look for yourself at the replay but, alas, the club is a bit slower getting them up this year.

Will post the links when they come online...

We're going into our first bye inside the 8... :)

Image

In fact you could say that we're within spitting distance of the top 4, with only a touch under 46% between us and 4th spot...

But, after the catastrophic systems failures we suffered early in the season, I'll happily take a 4-3 record at this stage of the year any day.

Only one game in the whole comp next week (Essendon and Richmond), so if the Tiges can knock off the Dons, we'll go into our next game vs Werribee still inside the 8 and a game clear of our nearest competitors...
