To my mind he'll be struggling to hold his spot in our team at all, now we have Moore, Howe and Frampton as our preferred defensive talls.
Up forward, we should be strengthened by having McInnes and WHE there as fast, mobile, marking forwards. If any defender is likely to be played up forward, my guess is it would be Howe, given he has played there before.

Sure, but is there any evidence that Dean can actually play up there? I may be misremembering but I'm pretty sure Mihocek had spent some time up forward in the VFL before he was drafted as a defender.

Anyone who remembers watching Lachlan Keeffe playing full forward for our VFL team understands that lightning does strike the same place twice but only rarely.stui magpie wrote:It worked for Checkers. He was a VFL KPB who we turned into a very good forward. Could lightening strike twice?joemamone@gmail.com wrote:I say, lets try Dean at Full forward! What is there to lose?

I see no reason to move Charlie Dean into a position he hasn't trained for. This young man simply needs our patience (he's played 4 games FFS) and games into him to determine his viability as a longer-term KPD.
If it wasn't for injury, he'd have a body of games we could objectively make a comparison to positional peers at the same age.
