He is going to be one of those hard-working ball-magnet type inside midfielders who will never win a Brownlow and never finish outside the top 6 or 8 in the club best and fairest (unless injured). A Luke Ball, a Paul Licuria, a Tony Shaw. A tough, gritty extractor who will clock up 25-35 possessions week in and week out, and give our flashy outsiders plenty of leather to run with and deliver.
Did I say I'm on the bandwagon already?

Did you read how he indicated that he believe fatigue caused his poor disposal and that learning how to dispose of the ball with fatigue is something that he is working very hard on. It wasnt an excuse, it was just his identification of an area that he needs to work on. He expressed admiration for the way Pendles operates under fatigue.
I am super impressed with Adams. If he takes the next step this year (a big if), we will effectively be introducing to the club 5 top 10 draft picks.
In Varcoe, Greenwood, Grundy, Broomhead, Kennedy, Maynard and Karnezis, we are also introducing 7 second round calibre players (usually a low strike rate on these guys becoming stars but generally a high strike rate for these guys being serviceable members of our 22).
That is 12 guys who should be able to form a strong core of our best 22 to go along with the allstar talent of Reid, Cloke, Pendles, Sidey, Elliot and Swan (and to a lesser extent Frost and Brown).
That's a pretty good core of 20 players (and i havent even mentioned the fairly reliable - to greater and lesser degrees - Goldsack, Toovey, Williams, Keefe, Caff, Blair, Sinclair, Thomas, Seedsman, White, Witts).
Oh and dont forget COX!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pendles and Steele first candidates.
Then as they say "The queue forms on the right dear"
Think the back half will have bearing on a spot --example would be Jon
Marsh filling a role he played well in VFL as a good backman and that may
release Marley to midfield.
Enter Greenwood or Crisp or Freeman --a newbie from trade/draft also
may take a crack
See some competition amongst the group for place in 22 let alone the mid

Out on the piss in the middle of pre-season training? And just before the team flies off to a tough fitness camp in NZ? WTF?
The club need to throw a rope around the players' social activities. No point in recruiting the best, training them the best etc if they get on the turps and piss all the advantages up against the wall.
Adams is not the only one. He just got caught.
