Petracca willl not & was never going to be a Pies player.
I'm quite certain that from the ages of 9 to 17, he was of the belief that he would be....

All will be fine though once we get Jack Schitt on board, we can then confidently say - Schitt happens.

Does he play CHF or FF and can he take a pack mark with the ball placed on his head rather than out in front and kick a set shot goal?
He is a good mark, but hard to prove with no supply his way.
And when it does come in, it's either at his shins or way over his head.

And that's when he's not played out of position by the coach week after week.

About to sign a $900,000 a year deal with Melbourne. Keeping him there and stopping any free agency bids he may receive.

Shows what can happen when you're having a winning season.

Nothing happening here anytime soon so he might as well. Frankly I very much doubt we can realistically afford a free agent anyway, and if we could... we're so far away from a flag me might as well wait and see when we're closer to the mark.

Wholly hell, it's a long contract. He will be 33 by the time it expires in 2029.

Thats a 7 year deal worth somewhere between $6 and 6.5 million.

He will never be a Pie now. So fk him. I doubt we would be offering that kind of deal again.

He's still getting less than Grundy. We won't be able to entice any marquee players for a very long time I suspect and won't be able to offload overpaid underperforming "superstars" to pay them even if they were interested in coming to Collingwood

We already offloaded our only overpaid, underperforming superstar. He is now a trivial irrelevance at Footscray (where, he is, of course, lauded by the media).

I doubt that, we have lost the following in the past 12 months,

Reid
Varcoe
Langdon
Beams
Treloar
Stepenson
Phillips

That's a bit of coin.

Also, we may see Cox, Thomas and even Hoskin-Elliot depart soon.

The issue now is who would want to come?

^ haven't got much to show for that coin at the moment do we? I doubt Collingwood's ability to attract big name players will somehow magically improve next season or beyond given the utter shambles the club has become and being years off contending for premiership again.
