"Marcus Stoinis has made a brilliant century, his first in nine seasons of playing in the Indian Premier League, to carry Lucknow Super Giants to victory over Chennai Super Kings.

Facing Chennai's daunting 4-210 Lucknow lost Quinton de Kock without scoring bringing Stoinis, promoted to No.3, to the crease after three balls.

The 34-year-old took his time, playing himself in, then accelerated to pummel the hosts for 124 not out off 63 balls. It was his second highest T20 score, eclipsed only by the astonishing 147 not out he made for Melbourne Stars against Sydney Sixers in January 2020."

You'd think 6/261 would be a difficult score to match. Salt (75 from 37) and Narine (71 from 32) put on 138 for the first wicket from just 10.2 overs. But no - Prabhsimran Singh opened with Bairstow and led them to 1/93 from 6 overs as he was run out for 54 from 20 balls. Then Bairstow exploded to his century (108* from 48 balls). Yet, even Bairstow's power hitting was shaded by Shashank Singh's crazy 68* from 28 balls (Shashank was just 25 from 15 balls when Bairstow brought up his hundred but then took 41 from his next 11 balls to reach 66, before he and Bairstow knocked off the remaining runs in singles), as the Kings chased down the Knight Riders' target in just 18.4 overs. 2/262!

That was the highest ever successful run chase in T20 cricket. Collectively, 42 sixes were hit in the match - the most ever in a T20. The Kings' 24 sixes were the 2nd-most ever in a T20 (there's that Mongolia v Nepal T20 "international" ruining the record books, again).
