Game On! Pies v. Swans. Updates, all comments.

Damn dog got out so missed 30 minutes. Just caught up now. This team is cooked. You could see it at the end of last season and the lads found a way, but it was there.
Boys playing like they got their flag. One and done!
Moore a shadow of himself. Elliot seems to have smacked into a wall. Johnson should be banished to the VFL never to be seen again.
Needs to be a different team coming out in the second half.

The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

If we're 1 and 5 after six rounds then a complete rebuild must start. Tank for a high draft pick of a future KPF. But they never seem to come to Collingwood.MatthewBoydFanClub wrote:There's so many things wrong with this team, where do you start? Let's start with father time. We're too old. Pendlebury, Howe and Jamie Elliot should have announced their retirements after the grand final. Schultz might be OK if he had a couple of tall forwards around him. How is Ash Johnson getting a game? Sidebottom is having a new lease of life. He's the only 30+ player out there justifying his spot. How Macrae and McInnes can't get a game reeks of the Buckley era when we played favourites like Jesse White. Dean is obviously having a poor game but we need to offer him some slack after missing two years of his football. Our year is going up in smoke before our eyes. The Swans should be at least 5 goals up at half time. We're going the same way as Geelong last year. Selwood had the good sense to retire. Our players just want to keep going which is preventing guys like Macrae coming through. I hope Fly has the good sense to start rejuvenating the team.

I think we are as rusty as hell. All the fantastically timed tap ons, handballs last year, have been 1 second off, and this meant they were intercepted. When you play chaos ball, and you are one second off in timing the chaos, you are made to look inferior. That is what is happening.
Like everyone else, our defenders are not in sync. Dean is not as good as Murphy as currently, but it is not his fault that the entire backline is failing to make the necessary precise linkages with the mids and rebounding safely out of our D50, and applying pressure on the ball carrier.
Not sure how we deoxidise the rust, but it might require a blow torch (sorry if my chemistry is inaccurate).

I don't get it. You condemn the players as cooked, and then you demand that a new team comes out in the second half.Haff wrote:Damn dog got out so missed 30 minutes. Just caught up now. This team is cooked. You could see it at the end of last season and the lads found a way, but it was there.

It's like carving the Christmas turkey for the Swans right now.
I tip it now. An all Sydney GF which the AFL will relocate to the Olympic Park at Homebush. GWS will beat the Swans in a thriller which no one in Melbourne bothers to watch on TV.

Happy with the team that played the first half are you? Effort has been poor, Sydney have kept us in it with some poor mistakes in their fwd 50. Really, we should be 50 down.Magpietothemax wrote: I don't get it. You condemn the players as cooked, and then you demand that a new team comes out in the second half.
