But the rumour wasn’t based on a just any players it was on veterans and basically will decide there future at the club
I was of the impression that members of nicks where interested on gaining some inside knowledge
Perhaps not

Holmes has now re-signed with Geelong.warburton lad wrote:If Smith goes to Geelong, then Holmes would certainly be on our radar.
Will the Cats still be interested in Smith? Or are we now more interested now that Max is gone.
As far as Cadman and Rowell, wholly hell, that'd fix some problems!
A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned!
Obviously not a concern for Sidebottom or Josh Daicos - see the following post from the Port post-game thread:qldmagpie67 wrote:After our hit out last weekend 2 senior players where summoned to coaches office with Leppa and told they have 3-4 games to improve there form and set higher standards or they’ll be banished to VFL for remainder of season
Both players form has been well below expectation and there GPS data, game stats and training performance has been well below acceptable levels
Coach made it clear there playing for their futures not just at the club but in the AFL
With the June/July deadline for contract decisions for veterans fast approaching I think this is the shot across the bow as a warning to all veterans
Watch this space there could be a couple of retirement announcements coming in the next month or so

The two players who covered the most territory for both teams on the day were Sidebottom ( 15ks ) and then Jaicos (14.6 ) Both are our wingers and both were instrumental in presenting as extra support over the entire day.

I never named the players as I stated for reason I stated previouslyPies4shaw wrote:^ Well, of course Sidey had to be one of them - otherwise qldmagpie67 wouldn't have posted the rumour.
I suppose we should revise predictions and accept that Steele is finally in the second half of his career. Perhaps 600 games may be out of reach, even for him.
Whether it was or wasn’t Sidey is irrelevant I wouldn’t have named him if it was or not.
Time will tell if my mail was right or not given the mid season decision on senior players future will hit the public airwaves June/July as I stated
After todays game perhaps 316 games may be out of reach for Sidey
On the subject of rumours Mitchell apparently had a tight hamstring hence why he was subbed out (even though his performance was below expectations)

Presti has Holmes re-signed at Geelong or has his manager gone back with a counter offer ? I thought on fox footy they said the manager asked for a 4 year deal to take him to free agency Geelong but the cats haven’t replied as yet unless I missed something
He did have a offer on the table from them but I can’t find news he signed it
