Our midfield looks very different to the one on paper at the beginning of the season. With Greenwwod and Sidey out with injuries both Crisp and Adams have been under significantly more pressure than planned and have held up well in the circumstances.

The expectations of some on here our totally unrealistic. These guys are developing well and will be part of a core of a very good midfield in the future if they continue taking the steps they have to date.. Age and experience can be a massive asset.

Congratulation to TA. He is a good addition to our our team.

Yep only 6 critical errors last week.
When exactly did these 6 "critical" errors occur or did you just look at his stats in the paper and read he had 6 clangers and decide to exaggerate them into making it look like he single handedly cost us the game?

Adams was great on the weekend and has been all year. A genuine hard nut, bust a gut, in and under midfielder. Those types will always have a lot of clangers on the stat sheet but due to the role they play those numbers are inflated and misleading. Adams disposal is vastly improved from last year.

The stats in the paper give critical errors plus clangers.
I saw 3 in a row at one stage.
If Taylor Adams has been so great in the last 2 weeks then
WHERE in the midfield are we going badly?
Because in the last 2 weeks we have smashed in the midfield.

There are some real Guns that have more Clangers then Adams this season

Partly the nature of where and the role he plays Dave.

I note that Heath Shaw is leading Taylor for clangers for those bemoaning that particular trade. I don't know what they're complaining about we just swapped like for like

Agree - Being a Inside Mid means you have lot more Contested Ball then UnContested Ball

Does Adam defend properly when the opposition
have the ball?
In the last few years the midfield has run forward but not back.
Swan and Beams weren't considered good at defending by running
hard defensively.
I don't know because I haven't focused on this area.

Yeah, thank God the selectors have finally had enough and dropped him.... oh wait, they didn't!

You are right though, the midfield has been smashed the last 2 games but against 2 sides who's main strength is their midfields, without 2 of our 4 best mids, and in the case of the Richmond game, Pendles on 1 leg. Pretty easy target so let's blame the kid!

stick with Taylor
He'll keep improving

Adams Kicking

We know that he is not the best kick.

He can have some shocking Shanks but have some lovely kicks.

He has improved since last season.

I think his problem is that his Kicks lack Penatration. So when kicks it can float on him.

When he tries to hard is when he is prone to shank it at times

Your Thoughts?

He's improved rapidly since the Adelaide game, where he (along with some others) was very poor. I thought he still picked a couple of poor options yesterday (eg, going to aerial contests where our players would be outnumbered if the ball hit the ground) but that is just decision-making that will improve with more experience.

I think ambition overrides his ability sometimes. Needs to temper that a little and he'll go from a good player to a very, very good one.

Agree - He tries to be better kick they he is and he can get in trouble when he does that

His inside work with his hands were brilliant last night. Has drastically improved his kicking from last year and will continue to improve. Not far off from having another A grade midfielder
