it was a good effort to get up, but they really had to work hard.
i'm just hoping it didn't take to much out of them, essendon had a easy win today

"Collingwood can beat them, but the boys will want to squeeze every bit of extra big-match experience out of themselves. They'll want to hit them as hard as they can in that first half, because Sydney are great finishers. They have a knack for rolling over the top of sides.
The key players and match-ups will be Buckley, who needs a big one on Kirk; Clement on O'Loughlin and Rocca on Schauble. Sydney will be stretched down back without Saddington, but so will we minus Presti.
But the decisive battle will be in the ruck. Fraser and Goodes play similar brands of football, and whether they play on or off each other, I predict the one who has the greater influence on the match will decide the result."
..............
Thus spake The Weed pre-match! Ah, nice to be on the money for once. We hit them hard early, and withstood the inevitable comeback. Goodes was great, but Fraser was the one who controlled the game when it counted. Kirk held Buckley for most of the match, but Clement did his job on O'Loughlin, Wakes held Hall and Rocca beat Schauble.
Special mention to Tex Walker, who impressed me with his attack in the ruck against Adelaide and tonight showed the doubters (me included) that he may yet have what it takes. 13 poss., a goal and 13 hit-outs - top class. And also to Alan Didak - a hugely important game from him tonight. Great to see him getting the ball and using it so well.
Chris Tarrant again showed his outstanding work ethic and, of course, congratulations to Heath Scotland. He has been so luckless, but they say you make your own luck. He didn't do enough to get retained on early season performances, but in the last two weeks, after working so hard at Willi, he may have booked his finals place. Well done - that's the advantage of a team with depth and everyone battling for a place.
