If we could get this guy for basically nothing he could be a handy pickup. He can play both ends, usually gets the opposition's most mobile forward and could be the extra bit of veteran nous and muscle that we need. Could be a pickup like Wakelin. Surround him with a decent team and its amazing what some blokes can do. After finishing 4th in their 2002 did not fit with Pagan this year. I would get him if he's cheap.

I see your point here Cam.
However I just think he is near the end; also could be considered a bit on the slow side. However, if we got him cheep he could very well fit into the side.

Worth the risk?? I would have to say 'Maybe'
All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

Carlton would take a packt of new shoe laces for him! lol

I reckon Carlton would take anything they could get for anyone! They couldnt get any bloody worse! What do they have to lose!?
Tradition? Pfft you call merging with Fitzroy and cheatin to 3 flags Tradition? Winning 4 flags in a row is history, which makes tradition!

Beaumont's strength when he was starting out was his pace. He has lost more than a yard, he has always turned it over. Lets face it any drop kick is going to stand out in Carlton's side over the last 2 years.

Don't touch him!
I should have never been sacked as the president of the Collingwood Football Club.

A few years ago, definitely worth considering. Would be rather wary now, due to age and decrease in pace. Will grant that he has been competent in amongst some woeful Blues sides. Would consider him only on a bargain basement deal.
he's an animal, what can u expect!!!

History shows players that perform well against certain teams end up playing with that team. Steinfort was an example, Malthouse's history shows he may be a chance but only for a pittance.

Speaking of Steinfort, surely Carlton should have picked him up for nothing in the last draft. They let a 2002 GF player go back to the amatuers while their teammates rob each others houses? WTF?
