wet toast pull our pants down(match report)

Post by Ed from WA »

Match Report from a lounge room not far enough away..

Short and bittersweet will be the first report of the year.
Just like our wizard cup campaign.
It was over in 5 minutes.

From bounce one the wet toast were 110% switched on against our 75%.
Thats borne out by wakes 2 runs out of defence in the early stages, arrogantly taking them on and got caught turned it over and 2 goals resulted.
we were too slow, too hap hazard and lacking any system of play all night.

What Rocca was on is a mystery in a game where long kicks at goal were rewarded he refused to have a shot all night, playing on so lacking finesse it made me wonder if he wanted to be there at all.

I thought Didak put in well all night,Bucks got a lot of it but turned it over almost all night,as did most others.
The 6 debutants will be better for the hitout i think.
But i cant say any of them are worthy of a league game on that effort.
Richards looked ok.
Williams? The focal point up fwd was he.Ive often said MMs setting up of a fwd line makes me cringe.
well i cringed a lot when willo went near the ball,

We handballed to players under the pump all night. It seemed to the onlooker that MM had threatened to fine any fwd who lead or showed initiative and also fine any one who passed to the first option that was presented.

Teams watched us capitulate to power footy in the last GF so we can expect 22 weeks of the same as wet toast gave us.

Its early days but id say we have a long way to go after that performance.
The only stat we won was total ****ups.
but we did win that clearly.

I am extremely greatful that i couldnt get down to subi to watch that effort,it was bad enough LIVE on WIN.

Beaten in all positions,i think MM would be wise to rethink his idea of having 18 midfielders.
Wet toast showed what a well set fwd line can do if allowed to.
and what a committed back line can do to a fwd shamozzle.

3 weeks on the bush circuit before the real thing begins.

I cant wait,but i will.

Good accurate report, very truthful but sharp cutting comments.
Nothing can be concluded from last night,I just hope the boys have not been permanently scarred from our grand final losses combined.
Only time will tell.

It wasn't the fact that they pulled our pants down. It was what they did to us once they had our strides around our ankles.
Do not adjust your mind. The fault is in reality.
