Players that we have a chance of recruiting

Rory Hilton (Richmond)
He is probably going to be delisted any way so we could secure him in the pre season draft. If not a trade like Rhyce Shaw or a 5 round draft pick would be enough.

The guy is fearless, but lacks consistency. I believe under a good coach like MM we could get the best out of him, even though he would miss most of the year due to a knee reco.

What do you guys think? He would be a huge risk, but I think we can afford to take one in the draft. Remember Wakelin was a risk and has turned out to be excellent player.

Other players that we should look at are:

Kris Massie (Adelaide)
Has been in and out of the senior side all year and could be easily traded for Lokan, McGough, or draft pick. He is from Victoria and followed Collingwood. He can play a variety of roles, and especially giving us run of the half back line.

Nathan Lonie (Hawthorn)
Would allow Ryan to play different roles including as a third forward that we need in the absence of Davidson and Cameron Cloke. The Hawks need midfielders and a player like Obree could be a suitable trade.

David Wirrapunda (West Coast)
Like Massie he has also been in and out of the seniors all year. Wirrapunda would be a risk because of reported history of knee problems from running on the harder Subiaco surface, but he must be looked at because of his speed and awareness. There is no way I would trade Davis, but Walker or a 2nd round pick could be suitable.

David Spriggs (Geelong)
Also out of favor with the selectors due to poor form coming back from a knee reco. He could be the answer to our lack of pace in the midfield. He is super fit and has very clean hands, which would make him a good replacement for Obree. Once again I would throw up the usual names for trade like Mckee, Lokan and Obree.

Apart from Wirrapunda none of these players are in the sides best 15, so there for they are very tradable (if that is a word). I would love to get players like Ottens, Stevens, Dal Santo or Luke Ball but you have to sell the farm to get them. The players mentioned above are very tradable and could turn their careers around at Collingwood.

Discuss.

Whilst Ryan is out on the ground, Nathan could be waiting in the changerooms. Ryan busts his gut for 20 minutes every quarter, then 'fakes' an injury forcing him into the rooms, where Nathan comes out and continues where Ryan left off.

Being identical twins, who's gunna know the difference? The umps? They can't see a free kick when they're 2 metres away, so they'll never notice 'The Twin Switch' when it occurs.

Agree with Wirrpunda and Spriggs. I think that Spriggs could add a lot of run in the Midfield and carry the footy through the corridor. One majorr area where we are defficient is with our pace. I also like Wirrpunda as he could provide good run and opportunity from half back. His disposal is good which means that he could possibly even play on the wing or even in the forward line.

Matt McCarthy from Geelong would be the guy I would look closely at. He can't get a game this year in the seniors and would possibly put his hand up for a trade if offered more money / playing time?

Would be a great 3rd / 4th tall forward.

Likewise John Baird from North.

Matthew Bode and Wirrapunda are others I like who might want out of their current teams.

Kris Massie a handy player. Maybe worth a look. The rest can stay. Hilton hasn't done a thing since 2001. Leaving there as if he hasn't (despite injury) been able to consolidate a spot in this losing Tigers line up, he woin't get in ours.

McCarthy would be worth a look.....don't even contemplate Hilton, Spriggs will end up interstate.

Massie could be handy - if he's cheap!

if this is the class of player that is available we should stick with the players on our list.

Perhaps Cam will have to watch a video of her performance to answer that question fairly...
