Phantom Top 10

Here is my preddicted top 10 for this years draft:

1. Brett Deledo (Rich)
2. Lance Franklin (Haw)
3. Fabian Deluca (Dogs)
4. Ryan Griffen (Rich)
5. Richard Tambling (Haw)
6. Jarryd Roughhead (Dogs)
7. Ben Sharp (Coll)
8. Ryan Willts (Crows)
9. Cameron Wood(Carl)
10. John Meeson (Roos)

Franklin, midway through the season, was meant to go 1 or 2, so he is a real star. Deluca is a smokey as the Dogs need talls. We all know what Tambling is like, Griffen was meant to go in the top three but will be edged out by Deluca. The Hawks are lucky to pick up Tambling at 5 - I'd love him, so maybe we have to trade for the Dogs first pick. Sharp is a quallity midfielder who wins a lot of the ball and is fairly well built for a midfielder. Roughhead is a mobile big man, who the Dogs will need. Willits, Wood and Meeson are all big men, and thje Crows, Blues and Roos are in need of them.

Good call BJ26, we need a midifielder of quality desperatley so if Sharp is potentially the one we should go for him.Under no circumstances should we go for a key tall with our first pick i this draft.

2. Guran, chief of the Bandar tribe

4. Dave Palmer, former police commissioner
5. Old Man Mozz, Story teller of the Bandar Tribe
6. Dr.Axel, jungle doctor
7. Colonel Worobu, second in charge of the Jungle Patrol
8. Rex, The Phantom's Adopted son.
9. The Little People

Depends on trades and availability. If Tambling is available then its a monty that we'd take him. However I think it's highly unlikely that he'll be available.

Popular opinion has it has it that our problem is leg speed. I'm not so sure. Brisbane crack teams by
a. being relentles
b. Intimidating players they consider weak links. Once 1 or 2 crack the team folds.

It was that not speed which killed us last year and slaughtered Saints this year. Again relentless and stronger Swans midfield killed more skilled faster Eagles midfield. Based on on this, if Tambling is unavailable, I would look for someone who is both stong and skilled. Lewis is apparently a tough/physical ball magnet who can kick and is good at snapping for goal.

I dont understand... Why is tambling such a desperate need..???

He wont play seniors next year and help us propel up the ladder... Itll be guys like dids and neon that will, so isnt it more important to get a stable, quality player that will be an integral part of our long term future.

Safer recruiting a melbourne boy as has been proved late this season by players wanting to go home, ie carr and steinglein and im sure more to follow. Id say deledio would be a higher priority than any one else, as he is touted as the number 1 pick...

Cam - every Phantom is called Kit - the first son must be called Kit and is the next Phantom.

Phantom = Ghost who walks and cannot die,

not to be confused with

Bantom = Chook who walks and cannot fly.

I am the phantom and I am called Kit, as was my father before me. Although I am sure one was known as Bob Rose. RIP the toughest Phantom ever.

Johnno, just a heads up that DeLuca wont be in the draft this year as the TAC hasn't awarded him special dispensation to enter early. He's still too young this year around but after watching him play yesterday, the kid is going to be a star when he gets picked up in 2005.

In terms of a Potential Top 10 in the draft, i'd go with the following.

1. Brett Deledo (Rich)
2. Lance Franklin (Haw)
3. Ryan Griffen (Dogs)
4. Jarryd Roughhead (Rich)
5. Richard Tambling (Haw)
6. John Meeson (Dogs)
7. Angus Monfries (Coll)
8. Cameron Wood (Crows)
9. Jordan Lewis (Carl)
10. Ryan Willits (Roos)

Lewis is my smokey, the kid is smaller than Pavlich but has the same build and is a booming kick, an inside ball winner, I can see the Blues snapping him up.

I've played with Sharp. Good without being brilliant but he is quick.
Other than that I only really know what I've heard about the top few picks and from all accounts it drops of quite dramatically after about pick 5. Lets hope that isn't the case.

If anyone would like to do a phanton draft for the top 10 or 20 players, for Nick's Collingwood Page, feel free to do so, and give me a yell. Make sure they are well researched though. I will put them together in one article.

Do we really need a player with that name? Don't we get ridiculed enough?
