Disclaimer... Iam not circulating any rumours here just throwing up an opinion for discussion.

Ok.I have just posted a response(under an other psuedonym) on another forum in regards to Chris Tarrant being sought out by Adelaide Crows. Now we all know that there is a 'pigs fly' approach to trading Tarrant but it would be interesting to entertain possible scenarios and hell deep down inside we'd all love to be Collingwood recruiting directors.

Ok...my response to the Adelaide suggestion was I would want Brent Reilly, Graeme Johncock and pick 8. Then ontrade pick seven to Port for Salopek. Whilst still retaining pick 8. Now we would be giving away a 23 yr old superstar matchwinner who still has his best footy ahead of him and we know how damaging Taz could be. We would stich up our midfield for years to come with class and toughness, and if we picked up another young midfielder with pick eight who knows??..Iam running with my thoughts here but we would have some pace and class in the guts.
We'd go from an ageing midfield to a potential midfield that would rival st Kilda for options and perhaps our reliance on Bucks/Burns/Woewodin could be reduced..It would look like this....
Buckley/Burns/Woewodin-

Didak/Johnson/Cole/LDavis/Salopek
Lockyer/Holland/Lonie/Reilly/Johncock/Rowe/Obree??
Good little group we could have rotating through the middle

We could park Josh in front of the sticks or even Tex and Richards could ruck. CamCloke can also be a FWD in time so we could potentially fill Tazza'a void.

Its just a thought...Opinions??Would we even consider??

I would definitly not do it. Tarrant is our gold. We'd havbe to get picks 1, 2 or 3.

The deal looks like a win/win for us and Adelaide. However I can't see Port trading Salopek for pick 7.

Understand what ur saying... but

The only trade u would do for tarrant is JUDD...

No ifs, buts, speculation, anything... And even then u prolly wouldnt. C2 is a young player who even if he does play seniors next year will need 2 years, morrison 3 yrs, and davidson we have to wait and see if his knees hold up.

Rocca is gettin on, and simply, u dont trade ur best players. period. When was the last time essendon, brisbane, etc did that?? the dont. bcoz it doesnt send a good message to other players about loyalty etc... NO

there are players out there that i would trade for tarrant... but only players better than him at full forward.. that means only four players... lloyd, gehrig, neitz and lynch... maybe not neitz and lynch because of their age.. but a definite swap for lloyd or possibly gehrig..

Tarrant is a fantastic footballer and no doubt an up and coming footballer within the Collingwood Football Club, but he's not so good that the club wouldn't look at trading him and then it wouldn't ONLY have to be for Judd.

Would you consider trading Tarrant if the Lions said they'd give Akermanis and Notting?
Would you consider trading Tarrant if Essendon offered Llyod?
Would you consider trading Tarrant if Port Power offered Kane Cornes and whoever?
Would you consider trading Tarrant if St.Kilda offered Koshitzke and Luke Ball?

Of course you would! There are three untouchables at Collingwood and they are Burns, Licuria and Buckley and for anyone to think outside of that you'd be kidding yourself, because if the right deal was there, anyone else would be out the door.

all yes's for me apart from the st.kilda pair.. they havent impressed me yet.. put them in a richmond jumper and they wont be as effective...

As for your untouchables, burns, licca and bucks, i know they are going nowhere, but if u had the chance to trade any of em for a judd, treadrea, or a hird.. im pretty sure the collingwood board would say... "trade accepted"..

Hird = no. This would be a worse deal than trading one of our untouchables for Crawford

Just a Q, if the west toast offers Judd (I doubt this would happen) for Tarrant + our 2nd draft pick/tristan walker, is it a fair deal? IMO we should take it!

Licuria isn't an untouchable IMO.

Burns, Buckley - that's it.
