The same things have been said on three other posts that I know of.
It was on ten news.

McKee and Ben were expected to go and I wish them all the best in whatever comes next for them. Anyone who wears the Collingwood guernsey must be respected for having been a part of the Mighty Collingwood FC and, whilst neither of them were stars, they were part of us and will remain so forever. Good luck, guys.
What's frightening me at the moment, though, is that there's no news on Andrew Williams. I do not believe we can afford to carry him on our list for another season. FFS, he played most of this season at Williamstown and, if not because MM likes him so much, would have stayed there. He certainly didn't earn a recall to the seniors late in the season. Surely, MM can't be willing to retain him in 2005 and give him ANOTHER chance in the seniors?
Personally, I liked BK. He worked hard at maximising the talent he had and made a decent third tall forward. He was very good at Willi, but couldn't hold down a senior spot because he wasn't talented enough to step up into one of the top two tall forward roles whenever Taz and/or Pebbles were missing. Earlier this season, when it became apparent that we were going to play the kids - Davidson, C2 - and that they were much more talented than Ben, his time was obviously at an end. Still, had MM wanted to, he could have played Ben after Davo and Cam went down and Pebbles was carrying a serious injury. That he continued to play kids should be applauded.
We have a terrific bunch of kids coming through and we need to give them every opportunity to step up during 2005 to enhance our chances at the 2006 flag. There is no place for AW in this tilt.

Yes its frightening is that there's no news on Andrew Williams, he would have been one of the first one's i would have delisted.
Played most of his football at williamstown this year and if he is keeped on our list i would think that is where he would spend next season too.

Willo is handy to have on your list, even if he isn't a star, he can play all positions. More than likely that we'll see him traded than delisted though.

Correct Nath. Willo has what it takes.
Oh well - BK was always on borrowed time and saved his face.
We must try and keep McGough and Shaw. They are good players (not to mention two of my favourites). My opinions have been properly stated in the 3 other threads on the matter.

What it takes to play in the VFL?

No, to play AFL. I'm sure you would have seen him in rounds 1-3 in 2003 when he dominated and was a key int he wins. He is a talent that I am prepared to stick with.

That's it though. How many times do players shine for a brief period and then fade away never to acheive those heights again?
If he is capable, why didn't he do anything this year when we had so many injuries?

If you've watched as much VFL/AFL as I have, you should know damn well EVERY bloke traded from another club shines; most, however, merely briefly. Then return to the mediocrity that got 'em traded in the first place. People tend to remember the exceptions eg Jimmy, and point to them as the norm rather than the exception.
Williams is no different to the majority. Plays a couple of good games, gets people excited and then does nothing afterwards. I can't for the friggin' life of me work out why some of you think he's worth persevering with. He's done very little and we wouldn't miss him if he wasn't around.

I'm still prepard to give him another year. Just one more. He could be the missing forward link.
