Tallis flies to Seagulls Nest
http://williamstown.footballvictoria.co ... leid=30901
Retired Hawk Rayden Tallis will play with Williamstown in season 2005 after signing as Playing Assistant Coach.
Tallis made his AFL debut with the Hawks in 1994, being drafted from the Eastern Ranges with pick 56 of the 1993 National Draft. Playing mainly in defence or as a run-with player, he played a total of 163 games for Hawthorn. After playing 7 games in 2004 preceeded by 18 games in 2003, Tallis announced his retirement from AFL football before the 2004 season finished.
Tallis will be a vital acquisition to the Club as the Seagulls make another assault on the VFL Premiership Cup in 2005. Standing 184cm and weighing 85kg, Tallis' ability to play forward, midfield or defence marks him as a quality utility player capable of providing versatility to the team. After more than 10 years in the AFL, his football nous will also be a valuable asset to the match committee.
Tallis will play a similar role to Adrian Fletcher in 2002 and 2003. He will be the Playing Assistant Coach at Williamstown, acting as Brad Gotch's right hand man and will also have an involvement with Collingwood.
We all look forward to seeing Tallis take the field in 2005 in the mighty Gold and Blue.
