Hotels/Motels (nice ones) close to the ground

Post by Proud Pies »

Can anyone give me any idea of some nice accommodation close to the ground and how we can get to the ground and back after the game.

Really need some help with this as my mother has been very sick and it will be a very tiring day for her as we only arrive on the day of the match.

Thanks,

Do you mean to say that nobody in Perth knows of any hotels near the Ground? Being a melbournite, i have no idea where the ground is.

I did think that someone might be able to help, obviously not.

Hi Jacqui

It is probably best to stay at any of the hotels in the city. Collingwood normally stay at the Duxton!!!!

Then you can just catch a cab to the ground for around $10 and then get dropped at the gate. There isn't really any hotels in Subiaco.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you want any other info.

There aren't any hotels in Subiaco but it is only about 3-4 kms from the city so anywhere in town would be fine. The Duxton is a particularly upmarket hotel in town and whe're not sure what sort of accomodation you're looking for. The roads in and out of the ground can get very jammed so give yourself plenty of time. I live about 3kms from the ground in North Perth and its taken me 40 mins before. I suggest you do a map based search on www.yellowpages.com.au centering yourv search on subiaco oval. Somewhere within walking distance would be ideal due to the traffic issues.

Thanks Hugor, not sure that my Mother could walk that distance (or is it me that can't walk it?) as she's been very sick, hence wanting a hotel close to the ground. So, a cab back is out of the question. I'll look at trains back.

THANKS :)
