Williamstown Fixture 2007

Post by eddiesmith »

Suprised no one else had posted this but here it is, seems the Gulls have been rewarded for making the prelim with just 1 TV game for the year, although I do look forward to the trip to Geelong and hopefully a trip to Bendigo, better not move it again. Also a tough end to the season with the last 4 games on the road including the dreaded trip to Tassie but rd 5 and 18 will be the most interesting games

If you knew the reason why the last four games are away, you'd understand why.

How does a team that made the prelim final only get one televised match?

Which is? Something to do with the availability of Burbank oval is it?

Thats a very good question but its the ABC  Although the Bullants who went out the same week and were smashed by Willy have been rewarded with 4 TV games and dont have to play either of the sides who put them out twice

The reason for no home games after Rd15 is due to ground unavailabilty, and the reason for that is that the works for the new grandstand will be commencing.

Kiss goodbye to our home ground wind advantage!

Cheers, be glad to have a new grandstand there, as for the 'advantage' I dunno, Williamstown players seemed to struggle the most with the wind

Will this new grandstand dale replace those hideous portable social club rooms?
I should have never been sacked as the president of the Collingwood Football Club.

Not at this stage Ted. The new stand is going to be built towards the tennis courts, extending from the existing stand.

Although I've not seen the final plans, I would assume there is a provision for new social rooms in there somewhere.

Flagged it as an absolute disgrace when the draw was first released. Haven't even managed to pick up an away game. As I understand it, there are certain teams that are garanteed numbers of TV games. The remainder just take pot luck.

Last couple of rounds have not yet been allocated as I understand it. ABC will wait to see how the season unfolds prior to nominating the televised match.

It would be good if eddy in some way could get a few more games on the tele for willy so us interstate supporters can get a look at how our jnrs are going, 1 game is a disgrace especially when boxhill and bullants are on every 2nd week.
