Why did Nick's go down?

Post by jack_spain »

Very frustrating. Interstate and trying to follow the game on TV and Nick's and wasn't able to get on from about mid way through the third quarter. Conveniently this was just when the Roos looked like destroying our run to the top four. A cynic might suggest it was a way of minimising the negative comment that naturally (and in this instance deservedly) will come.

We were shite tonight. To lose twice in the season to both the Scum and the Roos is nothing short of disgraceful. A few boys got ahead of themselves tonight and we all need to take a good hard look at ourselves (myself included).

There was only one cull tonight and it was the futures of some of our players who gave very little when the heat was on. We have every right to be angry at such an insipid performance. The worst loss since Hawthorn, and possible (in the context of the season) our worst loss of the year.

It was sensing the storm of DTM threads that were heading its way.

mate in the chat room, in the first minute you started with the negativity

you really were a downer. and you still are

in the second quarter you hopped on nicks and bigfooty and made a thread bagging rhyce's kicking skills

and before the end of the game, instead of cheering for our revival you jumped onto bigfooty main board and proclaimed that we are pretenders and top 4 is blown.

you've got to have a bit more faith DTM. I usually love your passion but not on this occasion.

Kingswood are you suggesting that Nick's was "taken off the air" because of Dave the Man's negativity?

I'm still in shock after tonight's disgrace.

If you mean the inability to access the chat room when Nick's fails, have you tried a stand-alone chat client?

I use XChat IRC, and I don't even have to be logged in to access the room. I don't get the flags and other associated kiddies toys with it either.

you're really missing out then 8)
the onslaught of flags when a goal is kicked is the best thing about hte chat

especially since my radio broadcast is usually 10-15 seconds delayed, i see the flags before the callers announce it!!

I've been around long enough to be able to tell you that not in the last decade has there ever been general censorship of negative comments after a loss. Individual posts may be edited/deleted, just like any forum. Multiple threads may be joined, just like any forum.
The "Nick's goes down" topic has been discussed before. It appears to be an ongoing problem and may be linked to Nick's American server.

Sorry guys. I accept that. It was just bad luck and we were getting very frustrated with the pathetic display on the ground. Nick's is a great place.

You feel that way, when we are still 5+ goals down in a match too?
