Invalid Session. Please resubmit the form.

Post by Kingswood »

This is starting to get really annoying for me,

I sometimes have to press the reply button 5-10 times before it accepts my post, it always returns to the to the reply form with the message:

"Invalid Session. Please resubmit the form."

Sometimes 10 times is not enough and I just give up with what I wanted to post

I use Chrome but it happens with me on any browser and any computer, so I'm sure I can't be the only one.

I use both Firefox and Chrome and don't have any issues with them. Maybe it's your browser?

I get the same problem when I try to log in at work, using IE 7. I just assumed it was something to do with the firewall or virus software.

It won't be fixed at this end - there are no current issues that I'm aware of. While I am sympathetic and would like to help, no one else is complaining of the problems that you are having so it's impossible to know what could be causing it.

Usually when there are repeated problems logging in or submitting forms the problem is resolved by clearing the cookie cache of the browser - in fact I'll go as far as to say that I haven't seen an individual case that hasn't been resolved in that way. Still, I have to admit that I don't get continued complaints from people who have got jack of it and buggered off either.

I just had a thought - surprising but true.

What domain are you using to get to Nick's? It should be magpies.net - either www.magpies.net/nick/bb/ or nick.magpies.net/bb/

If you are using magpies.org it may cause problems. It's the only thing, other than a browser malfunction, that I can think of that would cause problems for you and nobody else.

thanks mike - it really is strange. ive tried it on different computers and on different browsers, i use mainly chrome though. and always the same issue

sorry for the over the top post before, i love this website like i said but im serious in that posting has become such a stress inducing activity i feel like punching something or someone everytime i try and post .. i just dont need that anymore so until i figure something out i'll have to go back to being just a reader of the website with minimal posting.

anyways,

i tried clearing the cache/ cookies. still same thing
tried different browsers too
never used magpies.org

and its still happening. very strange indeed that im the only one reporting this

p.s. i tried submitting this post 3 times in google chrome, then switched to i.e. and had to try another further 6 times before going through

ok ive decided to get off my ass and research this, surely someone out there has seen this message before and fixed it

http://www.clanthemes.com/tutorials-vie ... -form.html

Mike, I'm sorry to be a bother since I'm the only one on Nicks facing this, but that site proclaims to have a fix for this issue and its to do with the admin cookie and cache settings, i.e. nothing i can do from my side...?

but theres a temporary fix for my browser which i'll try now..
