#21 Sharrod Wellingham

Post by Bob Sugar »

is our best young player, im going out on a limb here, i reckon he could be better than pendles, i predict he will be a superstar of the comp within 2 years, the way he wins hard ball in close is incredible, quick, good skills, backs himself, courageous, good over head, the complete package, must of been close to winning the norm smith.

Was so fast yesterday in the clearances. Don't like comparisons to our own players. Pendles just has the finishes that nobody else in our team has right now. Wellingham will be a superstar!

I don't disagree, but it's so hard to pick out best young player.

You have Reid, who may already be the best CHB in the game.

You have Thomas, who just burns in big games.

You have Steele, who at 19 should have won a Norm Smith.

You have MaCaffer who has developed so quickly it's not funny.

You have Dawes who is a man mountain who will only get better.

You have ................

I think you get the point.

But I love Wellers too.

Agree with the assessment of Wellingham, he's all good, but if I had to vote for the best youngster, Steele gets my nod.

I think we are so fortunate when we look at our list

Hine, Rowdy and MM have done wonders

Wellingham is already a star..... a premiership midfielder. He's going to be a very important cog in a young midfield that I reckon is going to dominate the comp for the next 5 years. We don't need to recruit anyone in the midfield....no one. I don't think I can remember that being the case in any previous Collingwood team. The truth is we don't need Judd or anyone like him going around for the opposition. All we have to do is keep this group together.

Sidebottom

Pendles
Swan .... OMG..... Somebody stop us !!!!!

You could possibly be right. Then again I think Steele Sidebottom will end up the best of the lot of them. :D

Sharrod has become one of my favourites. I love the way he plays. Brilliant and now a premiership player.

So proud of what the boys have achieved for themselves and the supporters.

Crucially, he stands up in the big games. Does a fine job tagging Ablett and always pops up with a goal or two against Geelong / Saints.

Luckily for us we had an awful lot of our salary cap sitting in the stands yesterday. With the potential retirements and delistings of that group I don't think it's going to be a problem. We really are very well placed at the moment.

It's so goddamn exciting it's not funny. All these talents under the age of 24 must be frightening for opposition teams.

I'd like to think we will get at least one more flag out of this mob in the next five or six years.
