An idea for Mods
Just to keep them a little bit accountable, and understandable for the rest of us, how about a system when they delete posts, they need to explain why?
I know on Talking Carlton, every time a Mod decide's to edit or delete a post, they need to choose a board rule that has been broken and it's there for all to see.
Any chance we can do that here?
It's very dangerous when a person is given all the power with no transparency. Just sayen'....

I back Mandy on this.
I thought this is what the mods used to do as a matter of course.
Heres an example of what used to happen:
http://magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.ph ... nyc#142572
At least you could take the mod concerned to account.
I also think a post confirming why a thread was closed/locked by the mod would be useful. I know WPW (Steve) used to do this in the past.
Same for the merging of threads, maybe close the old thread and link to the new position in the merged thread.
I love giving you guys more work to do.

I have seen it one other boards and I think it also serves as a reminder of the rules. For instance if you view a thread and you see comments such as the one below, it can only high-light and reinforce the rules to all.

How would Siri know when to answer "Hey Siri" unless it is listening in to everything you say?
