Match Report..Coll on top Carlton on bottom! Am i in heaven?

Fox footy come to the rescue again.
No free to air tv or radio cover in WA of the top of the table battle,bloody disgrace.
Anyway i got fox footy so who cares.Cleaned out the geelong fans that were here to watch the earlier game,and now its just me the wife and the esky.
game starts in a goal frenzy.Ant seems to be on the wing,gets a few marks and Cummings is on the end of a pass and goals.
First blood to us,sadly scotty doesnt do much else.
Then Voss gets the staggers after a belting from his teammate and goes off for a while.
Taz marks ,passes to Rocca in the square and we are 2 goals to nil.
In the next 3 minutes the Lions kick 3 goals too easy,its going to be tough tonite.
fraser pulls off the steal of the night and gets it to Taz who goals.
Forward thrusts are furious by both sides and repelled just as furiously,its going end to end non stop.
Bucks catches mal Michael with the ball and Goals but we turn the first corner 31-44 down
2nd qtr ,we get an early goal,taz marks but his pass to Ant is chopped off,lions go forward and get yet another goal off the back of the pack,thats 3 already,jagged goals.
Taz is on the end of everything,Rocca finds him,GOAL.
Taz marks again POINT,Cummings runs into goal but soccers a point,Lika marks POINT......Same old story from years past we cant kick the ones to make it easy for us.
Lions then go forward twice and goal twice in 2 minutes.
Taz then takes a miraculous mark,would have been a free anyway and Goals at last,from the bouncedown with 20 sec to play Taz is flattened and gets a free dead in front POINT abloodygen!!!!!!!
siren sounds as it sails thru the wrong side.
57-65 down at the half.
3rd qtr.
Bris goal and Fraser gets it back a minute later.
Then Johnno got reported for what looked like him getting hit in the face!!!!!!!!!! 50 mtr penalty sees charity kick for lions but for a change they kick a point.
Then Mckee gets it to brodie from the ruck tap and Bucks is on the end of the pass GOAL!!
Voss goals from a turnover but then Taz gets a free for some reason and he kicks straight.
Some absolute brilliance from buckley clears the pack and Boofa gets a free from the pass and hits the post.Boofa runs into an open goal but the umpire says come back here and gives a lion free for some reason,but they turn it over and Betheras snaps truly.Molly is rewarded for a strong tacle and kicks it out on the full,For Christs sake,we can win this if we kick goals.
Thankfully the Lions turn it over as they start to fumble under the intense pressure we are applying.
Rocca goals,a nd soon after passes to burns and betheras crumbs the ball and goals,just before the siren lions are looking dangerous but Bucks repels them.
96-81 our way at the 3qtr mark.
That was the best qtr of intense footy i have seen from us.
still turnovers and miss shots aplenty but its fierce.
final stanza.
Lions go for broke,Voss kicks a point and Brodies turnover ids gathered by akermanis and he goals.
Rocca takes the ball from the throw in a snaps into the square,and betheras roves the pack and goals.
We go foorward again,turn it over again,and the lions pounce and goal.
Im getting nervous.
From the bounce Mckee wins tap and brodie kicks it high and Molly takes a great mark and follows it up with a shocking kick,but lucks a fortune and Obree roves the pack and snaps truly.
We go forward again from the bounce and Taz is pushed in the back and goals.
Lions wont give in and we are turning it over at will as they continue to attack.
Brown takes a skidding mark and gets his mouth full of the whiteline.
It must have made mim high as he kicks badly and he does the same again when wakes pushes him in the back.
Lions get a couple of goals and its a 3 pt game.
luckily the lions miss a few easy shots but they keep attacking.
3 minutes to go they kick it into the goals but WAKES marks.
2 minutes to go they go forward and kick it into the square and Wakes marks.
10 seconds to go they go forward and Wakes marks.
SIREN heartstopping game played at a fierce level of intensity.
Brisbane are the real deal,they have a great team,but we played them hard and tough,didnt give them an inch and held on for a great victory.
So many turnovers and missed shots at goal,had me squirming but they just gutsed it out and held on.

Great post, Ed , as usual. Pleased to see you included Clement in your votes. I think he did some important things in that great victory last night. Gotta go and talk to some more Brisbane and Carlscum supporters now.

What a fantastic match of football and what a great team effort by our boys.

All the guys were fantastic but there were a few who deserve an extra mention such as Bucks (we know he's a star!), Cloke (always inspirational), Tarrant (with a bit more consistency he could easily be up there in the league goal-kicking), Rocca (still my Bronwlow favourite!), Betheras (one of his best matches and what fantastic goals).

Well done to all the guys, they really all deserve a mention after a match where they showed such fantastic skills, strength and desperation. An inspirational win! Here's hoping for another big effort this Friday night - it's going to be a tough one.
