Another trade to come?

Post by thompsoc »

Hine hinted on SEN that we may look at
another trade or a swap of picks.
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

Hope so. Right now it looks like pick 30 and 48 will be wasted.

Should have used them to get pick 3 or 23 from Melbourne.

I'd throw everything at Melbourne for pick 3, would 5 & 30 do it? probably not.

It would however increase our chances of landing Petracca or Brayshaw.

Don't think so. If they were going to do that, it would go through in the Varcoe deal.

I would have been happy to give up 5, 30 and 48 for pick 3, but I can't see it happening.

Put me down as a no for the Cobbler too. He's like a richmans Corey Gault and rich men don't need Corey Gaults.

I don't think you need to worry, DTM - there just aren't enough places available on the Collingwood list to think that could be a realistic prospect.

Agree, think we'll use the 2x live ND picks, upgrade Frost, use 3x RD picks.

But then again, maybe 6 & 26 from the Doggies for 5 & 30.

Don't the GC have 7 and 15ish? I wonder if our 5 and 30 could get those.

Think Derek might be trying to cook something else up in terms of picks.

Dont think we should undersell pick 30 either. Its a speculative draft very quickly. If thats the case, then there is no reason why a pick between 15 and 29 will prove to be much better than pick 30. We all rate Hine but Rendell had a good strike rate at the crows too. Between them both, if anyone can get pick 30 right, its these two. Always happy to improve our draft picks inside the top 10 but outside of that, i can live with utilising pick 30 in this years draft pool.

A lot of if's here but let's say this occurs:

Coll 5, 30 to Saints

Saints pick 22 to Coll

GWS pick 4 to Saints

GWS pick 7 to Coll

Saints pick 1 to GWS

We lose 5,30
We gain 7,22

Saints lose 1, 22
Saints gain 4,5,30

GWS lose 4,7
GWS gain 1

There are other combinations that would benefit us more just taking the minimum option as a starting point.
