Now that the season is done and dusted, I wanted to publicly thank Travis Varcoe for a fabulous year. I was one who was rather skeptical of what he could bring to our team, but he proved me wrong. His ferocity, tackling, hard running, slick hand-passes and overall intensity and class have been first rate. He has led by example and deserves to be promoted to our leadership group after showing genuine leadership, week in, week out. Well done Travis. Let's hope the rest of the team follows your example of pressure football and we have success in September next year.

A real chance at a top 3 finish at the Copeland. Was solid all year and we would have lost a few by a lot more without him.

Couldn't have been more impressed TBH, i wasn't a fan of recruiting him but he's been outstanding, he'll surely go top 3 in the Cope and I feel he has a lot more to give.

The one great shinning light for this miserable season.
The guy has class written all over him, and that is the problem!
the lack of class from many of his team mates.

I just want to admit I was wrong about Varcoe. I laughed at the news when ducks took off to Fiji or were ever trav was holidaying to bring him over to Collingwood. I called him soft and boy I was completely wrong to say that. I think he has proved himself to being a top five player in our squad and hope he continues this way for us.

Yep, Guilty as Charged, Your Honour.
I had FAIL stamped on this deal too, last trade time.
He brought clinical disposal to the list, a shame it isn't infectious.
It's like I breath a sigh of relief every time he gets the ball in his hands, because we know it won't get slaughtered in the next passage.

But that kick backwards today, when you were only 20 metres out? WTF?!

Preseason I was really hoping we would get Mitch Clark over Varcoe. Glad I didn't get my wish.

This is hard for me to post, but I just want to admit that I was right about Varcoe.

I thought at the time that he was the right type to target. But I have been impressed with how well he has gone. I'm sure even Geelong didn't believe he was capable of improving and playing near his best football this season.

We did well getting Varcoe, Crisp and Greenwood. It's a shame Greenwood got injured early in the piece.

Yeah, he won me over.
Soft as a Geelong player, and shirked a few early on with us, but he's been fantastic since about the first month.

Great season from Varcoe.
